I know you weren't asking me, but my opinion is that it is not a bad thing at all. Assertive is a good quality. You're outgoing and you have good self-esteem.

And, I don't mean just you, I mean assertive people, in general. It's nice to deal with people who are confident and outgoing.

Hmmmm......aggressive....that atypical woman in the bar, who just won't let up on some poor guy, who is attempting to extricate himself politely...

aggressive....that man who the more he drinks the more he wants a reason to punch someone.

assertive....that woman in the bar who walks up to a man and says 'I like the cut of your gib, and want to get to know you better....may I buy you a drink?'

Assertive...that man in the bar who walks up to a woman and says.." You are a very attractive woman, I would really like to know more about you, may I buy you a dinrk?"


I am assertive......I dont mince my words or play political correctness....I'm not 'nice'.


I am aggressive, when someone threatens my kids...touch them and I'll tear your heart out.

an aggressive woman, to me, is one that doesnt acknowledge the comfort level of others. She does what she feels how she feels with no concern of what anyone feels about it. I dont care for aggressive people, male or female. Assertiveness is a different question. Assertive means the person is self accountable for their actions and takes responsbility for finding solutions to their own problems. Assertiveness is attractive in a female or male.
