Topic: Restlessness Problem...

In the past month, I have found it extremely hard to sleep. It has progressed worse and worse. Currently, I have been pulling all-nighters every other night. This is because I am not tired after being up for one workday. So I thought I would ask a vast age range (you fellow Minglers) instead of going to a doctors copay I can't afford.

If you are not tired, what's a good way to go to sleep?

Anyone else ever been this restless?

Uh, a non-expensive, non-illegal way is preferred.

Thanks though. =/

See why you should pay the doctor copay.

There are things like melatonin that are non addicting. There is something called calms forte-I think that is the name-they sell it in health food stores.

Enjoy being young and able to pull all-nighters.

I'm so old, the other night I tried to do a one-timer and fell asleep halfway through.grumble

I have been an insomniac for years, I started meditating, it's the ONLY thing that works for me....if I don't meditate I don't sleep.

I want to find a way that does not take away from my computer time. =)

Masturbate.......after a warm shower or bath...no lights on...no tv...no electrical white noise in the background...

a quiet darkened room..

Masturbate...orgasm...and let nature do the rest.

Oh! and no coffee, coke, dr peppers, soda's...beers...or anything like that after 4 00pm...water or juices, or milky drinks...only.

Lot of things could be contributeing to your sleeplessness.

1) Diet
2) Allergy
3) Drug interaction
4) Dehydration
5) Seasonal Depression
6) Manic Depression
7) Head Injury
8) Hyper-fatigue syndrom
9) Social Stress
10)Noise
11)Obesity
12)Chronic light stimultion
13)Toxic expossure
14)Not enough cardio exercise
15)Smoking
16)Parasites
17)Employment anxiety
18)Poor sleep hygine
19)Dental problem
20)Not allowing enough hours for sleep; especially going to bed really late.
and the usual one, that terrible disease, lac-o-nooky. lol

If you are the typical young person it is probably several.

FIrst thing I would check with 20 somethings is Dental issues that produce a chronic headache. Second is second hand smoke and alcohol toxicity. Third with guys is moldy tennis shoes and or boots stored in and enclosed closet or under the bed.

Even if you have to get up earlier start fast walking every morning while drinking at least 8 ounces of water. Repeat after work. Helps you transition out of work mode.

I would look around where you sleep and remove all electronics, night lights, and put up room darkening shades.

Turn the tv and computer off a full hour before bed and develope a going to sleep routine. Every night brush or wash your hair and or beard.

Put a mattress cover on your bed, pillow, and wash your bedding with 1/2 cup of ammonia. Change your furnace filter twice a month while the seasons are changeing. Keep pets and litter boxes out of the bedroom and away from cold air return.

Keep a food diary of everything you eat, drink (Energy drinks and power vitamins are nortorious for sleep depravation), or chew on. Pencils, fingernail polish, handcleaner, and armoral is toxic for most people even in small amounts. Wash your hands freqently and throughly. Avoid or stop alcohol, salt, caffine, and food coloring (most cheese products are colored) consumption. Read lables and avoid peanuts and seafood. Ask your family if you used a soy formula you may be lactose intolerant. Introduce only one new food a week.

Reduce or delete the use of fabric softners, most cleaners, cosmetics, and wearing leather clothes that have been chemically treated. Make sure you are not being exposed to CO2 fumes, bug spray, or mold. If you have cologne over a year old throw it out it breaks down. Do not store model paints or glue in your closet with your clothes. Do not store greasy work gloves in and enclosed car.

Take all medications and over the counter pills into a pharamcist and have them reviewed for counterindications. Some medications actually work in reverse when they are out of date. Many herbal products don't mix and are toxic.

Sweet Dreams.
