So, how do you handle it when someone corrects or criticizes you? Do you accept it gracefully, ignore it, or fight about it?

So, how do you handle it when someone corrects or criticizes you? Do you accept it gracefully, ignore it, or fight about it? Depends on if it's warranted and what their motivation is. If they do it to purposely embarrass me, then I silently plot my revenge.. |

depends on the situation but when you gotta take it you bend over the barrel and take it gracefully

depends on how they go about it. if i feel attacked i strike back. if its done in a respectful way i take it and improve myself by it.

I always welcome "constructive" critism...I take it as room for improvement as a whole

Exactly. And providing it is given in a proper manner by someone whom is genuine w/ good intention. If it is given w/ negativity & thoughtlessness then it's ON.

If it's someone who loves me enough to tell me I'm being an azz, I'll be open enough to listen..if it's someone that just likes to correct and criticize everything or everyone, I won't put much stock in it.

It depends on who it's coming from and how they present themselves with it. Most of the time it's from friends, and if it is. That means i needed a kick in the butt lol.

I typically spend time with people who dont criticize me often.
I do enjoy a friend who will call me on my crap, and not co-sign everything I say or do, but honestly, as a grown woman, i leave most of what my friends do their business, and hope for the same, and just try to encourage better decisions, and thinking.. The idea to uplift, and not bring someone down. |

I think most of us here are in agreement that it's in the delivery and the intent. If that's a little vague, maybe one of us could role-play a scenario to illustrate. I totally understand what you're saying though.

So, how do you handle it when someone corrects or criticizes you? Do you accept it gracefully, ignore it, or fight about it? I accept it gracefully and also might even through in an occasional apology or two...but then I keep a watchful eye out for any mistake(s) that they might make in the future...and correct them on theirs. |

It depends on the circumstances -if I've genuinely done wrong then - " my bad"!
I appreciate them telling me-but they better have a good point |
