Topic: Which One Would It Be? | |

I would save my s/o. We can make an other child. But, lets take this a step further. You are in a hut with everyone in your tribe. Outside are solders. If they hear you they will come in and kill all of you, about 50 men, women and children. Your infant starts crying. Do you cover it's nose and mouth, killing it to save everyone else? Nice pic |

The who comes first question...I was asked this in a different way by a family member once. He asked who comes first between my child and my sig other. The answer is ,,ideally,,my significant other if we are married. We are joined as one and not my kids who will someday lead lives of their own and have their own spouses...
That being said, there is no absolute answer because each situation is different. I could never choose between saving only one Id have to try to save both or neither. If my husband was harming me in ways that were harming the children as well, the kids would come first. If my kids were debating with my husband,, my husband is gonna come first. It all depends upon the situation. I tend to be of the belief that husband and wife are bound as one so the only time anyone would come before him is if they come before me...which cant happen. |

I'd jump off the cliff myself, so I wouldn't have to choose.

Im not a parent, so i cant say. But i have heard time and again that the bond between mother and child is irreplaceable. That being said, i would have to die or both of them would have to die. I would not be able to have one without the other, but i would fight for my life to save them both because i dont do well with loss.

This kind of reminds me of that scene in Air Force One where Gary Oldman (the terrorist) offers the president (Harrison Ford) a choice of who gets the bullet, his daughter or his wife.

This movie is 12 years old (1997) so I'm trying to remember but I think Marshall chooses his wife to get the bullet but at the last second he cuts through the duct-tape binding his wrists, and then lunges out striking Korshunov, and they all get away.
