Body mass index (BMI) is measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women.

BMI Categories:

* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

Your BMI is 28.1

And mine is 27.1

Up until 5 yrs ago it was 22.4, with a %18 body fat.

I am 6 ft and weigh 200 lbs.

I'm a size 12, and by entertainment standards, that's fat.

Someone told me men don't care so much about sizes or inches, just a good bust-waist-hip ratio.

But that's just one guy. Some men like their girls slim. So just throwing the question out there, what do you consider "fat"?

Nothing, I do not judge others only myself.

If she makes me smile, makes me look forward to her company and makes my heart sings then no matter the size she is welcome in my life.

Ladies, don't allow yourselves to listen to anyone that tell you what you should do with your body, your lives, your self esteem.

I just think people say the darnest things when hungry

Live a good life
Live a healthy lifestyle
Treat people like you want to be treated
Feel good about yourself

Life is short, ride it out don't sit on the sidelines, have fun and throw out those unnecessary categories people want to put us in.

Hi my name is Frances and not only am I PHAT but I am FABULOUS.

5'9 and 138.6 pounds according to the kilogram to pound converter...

BMI 20.5...

and yet I KNOW I am carrying extra weight.

I have a girlfriend who is 5'4....weighs 145 pounds

has a BMI of 24.9....and yet looks like a waif...tiny petite little thing...

See the thing is...we measured our bone structures...wrists, ankles, hips, width of shoulders...etc...

and I am way finer built than her... bone density, I suspect my bones are lighter than hers....

as I weigh less than her am 5 inches taller than her... and yet I know I am carting extra weight...soft weight... whereas she is all muscle...

so there is no exact since to who is fat and who isn't....

just eat healthy food, more fibre less carbs...and exercise for at least 30 minutes a day...and your body will do the reast.

Fat is so much a state of mind. If you are comfortable in your own body then you are fine. If you are not, then try to change it. The real goal should be health, not a number on a scale! I used to be a large women and now I am a small one, heard complaints about both!

I really want to say that there is such a thing as to thin! Growing up with tv, magazines ect as (supposed) role models I was sort of shocked to hear from men that I am to thin. After hearing this many times from many men I had to believe that it is true. Men seem to prefer a female with some curves and soft places. While caring for my dying husband I went from 179 to 113, the day I hit 113 I stood on the scale and cried, I was 3 pounds away from being hospitalized. I have managed to get up to 122 but that is still pretty bony on me.

Fat is unhealthy, bones sticking out is unhealthy. Be happy in your body and let others keep their negative words to themselves!

Fat is a state of mind. Brilliance!!!!

Yup I'm definitely overweight. I dunno, I feel more comfortable in my own skin naked than clothed. Is that common among us? You feel hot until you have to put something on.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Defining fat is like that. Some men like Rubenesque women, others don't. I have known extremely sensual women who were heavy set. Sensuality rather than size determines sexual performance. So, those who look for Barbi aren't always going to have the most satisfying sex life!

I love that word..Rubenesque... flowerforyou
I'm 5'11 inches tall and weigh 200 lbs. You'd never know it looking at me though ;) I've worked hard to lose the 50 extra pounds I carried around. I'm thrilled with the way I look. I'm curvy :D
I have to agree that "fat" is in YOUR (a general you btw) eyes. I'm still adjusting to the way I look now, buying clothes isn't a chore for me anymore, it's a pleasure! I'm still considered "fat" for my height, but who cares????
My best friend years ago was what one would call "large" My height, over 300 lbs. The man she married looks like a Chippendale dancer. One person was rude enough to ask him "what do you see in her? She's HUGE!" Her husbands eyes lit up and he smiled so big I thought his face would split. He said "You don't SEE her. I DO. She is the most beautiful woman I've ever met." They are still married

I like women who have a bit of meat on their bones. And if they have a bit more meat on them? Just means more to hug.

This also reminds me of a quote from Mock the Week:

"I don't look at a skinny model and think, Hmm, she's skinny, I'd best go on a diet. I look at a skinny model and think, Hmm, she's skinny, I bet she's hungry, I think I'll have a pie."
