Chuck Liddel Knocked out in the first round last night....Crazy.
Hell of a night last night every fight was top quality. My boy Burkman put up a great fight with Karo Parysian but lost the decision. Jardine's ass whooping was entertaining as well.. |

yeah that was very dissapointing...

There are a few UFC fans on this site.
I thought it was kind of a weak card intially but it was one of the better UFC's in awhile. I loved seeing Chuck get knocked out. I didn't think the Parysian / Burkman fight was that close. Parysian was alot more technical looking, while Burkman just seemed to be swinging for the fences the whole time. Plus I'm not a fan of any of Tito's boys. Parysian's striking was impressive that fight. I aslo loved seeing Chris Leaben get beat, I hate that kid. |

Yeah I have to admit, even though I'm a Liddel fan, it was impressive to
see someone knock him out lol.... |

omg i have no clue who any of those people are but that is because i'm
not good with names. but i love UFC. i heard it was good last night.i didnt get to watch i had to work. |

Yeah I didn't think the Burkman fight was all that close but it was
still exciting. Except for the last two minutes of the second. Seeing Leben lose is always fun I realy would have liked to see Starnes submit him put him to sleep. Or just beat him as ruthlessly as Silva did. I like Liddel but I train under Jeremy Horn so it felt kinda good to see him get dropped like that. |

Yes It was an good time...not as good as the Serra St. Pierre card...but
it was good to see Chuck go down.He has a hell of a punch, but he just hasn't had to fight high level competition until last night. This was Rampage's second win against Chuck by the way. The Karo fight was good and he was on...Berkman tried very hard to take Karo down and took it to Karo...Karo was just so much more prepared and ready with take down defense, stand up,and clinch & positioning control. Good fight but both guys started to gas in the last round...rightly so though. |

couldn't belive it.. thought chuck was better.. still i wouldn't tangle with chuck.. but still thought it would have lasted longer.. |

I just watched it again and Rampage was just text book with the block
and counter, it was a thing of beauty. I've never thought Chuck had much more than a punch and great sprawl. I mean he's not even really a technical striker. I think the Pride acquisition is going to be great, a couple of the classes in UFC have always been kinda weak as far as competition goes. Karo is just so much fun to watch. The UFC has become so copy cat that it's a nice change to see a different style in the octagon. Did anyone get the SI with UFC on the cover? I went out today to try and find it but couldn't. I'm curious if it was a positive article. I've been seeing UFC on Sports Center and heard an hour long show on ESPN radio last month. I love the fact that it's finally breaking into the mainstream. Something that should attract more fighters. On the radio show they were saying the UFC gave you everything boxing never did. Since you actually have an organization doing the fights, you get to see all the fights you want and because of the UFC's structure you can actually follow guys up the ladder a lot easier than boxing. Making for compelling stories that keep fans coming back. Plus you get blockbuster fights every month rather than once a year like in boxing. It's exciting times for MMA fans. |

Here's a post fight interview with Dana. Talks a bit about the future of
the UFC as well. Video will only be on the home page for a few days. http://www.fightopinion.com/ |

ive always liked watchng rampage fight.
He doesnt "seem" technical at a casual glance he seems more like a brawler yet: He accounts or himself well versus "stikers", he wiggels out of submissions against BJJ black belts (or slams his way out), He slms and takes down wrestlers. All that requires technique. Very cagey guy. As for Karo, I love watching him throw, they are just such nice techniques and they take a load out of the opponent. |

Good stuff. So great to see the sport growing like this and getting this
kind of attention. Any predictions for the Ultimate Fighter finalists. I think the winner will be between Diaz, Lauzon and Manny. I train with Melendez though so I'd love to see him put Grey down this week but I don't think it is very likely. Wrestlers like Grey are a terrible matchup for Melendez. |

LAuzon looks like the fac but if manny takes after his cousin then I
wouldnt rule him out. |

Chucky rocks i think it was crap that he got knocked out i was very
dissapointed thats so not right:( |

Chuck had it coming. He was partying to hard and was way to confident in
his abilities. He has heavy hands and a good sprawl but he basically uses his chin to block punches. It was bound to put him face down at some point. |

|
|
Yea, he looked flabby at the wiegh ins and reports are he was out
clubing the night before the fight. |
|
|
|
Ok for the record when has chuck not looked a lil soft?
And clubbing? Cmon then he deserves to lose. Not only was he in a pro fight, he was against a guy who thoroughly whooped him the last go round. Clubbing or not Chuck woulda lost that fight. I guess he figgered why bother? |
