You say simple, see I think doing things simple are harder though. Because you leave yourself little room for error.

I like this one a lot, too. Maybe it is the color. I like the blue and purple you chose. Plus I like the background. You did that, right? That isn't the paper? No way. You added the effect shown in the background, behind the faces in both of the two I picked out? Right??

tell ya what else i see in this picture

perfection

the line from the end of the lips to the pupils..its a straight line..and the end of the eyes to the beginning of the nostrils..thats a straight line.......awesome job!

and i bet money you did not draw one of those silly T boxes either.

I really like your work krupa

Those backgrounds are just dry brushed and washed...couple of colours daubed on a brush, scrubbed onto the surface and then misted with water...then you blow dry it while it is wet and Bingo....an easy background...the colours set the moods.

As far as room for error...I screw up constantly...I seriously have about 40 pencils and about half of an eraser. But, screwing up ain't no biggie...I just fake around it. That is another reason I do .003 mm dots....you put a dot where it don't belong and no one notices...you put a solid line where it don't belong and those screw ups stick out like a sore thumb.

I do know what you are talking about with the boxes /ovals/ triangles/ rectangles for laying out bodies and features...I guess that crap is for right handers cause I just can't do it man. I just draw...if it don't look right, erase it then draw it till it is what I want...add inks or paints then erase the pencil from beneath.

It takes a while to do it my way but, it is what I am comfortable with and I don't know anyone else who does thier stuff in dots. I just don't want my work to look like other peoples stuff....

ya i totally feel ya

being right handed

when you go back and "fix" one thing you mess up something else

i never thought about it that way. right handed left handed. good point....kind of like bowling, eh?

but irregardless...you sound a little like me, very modest...i dont care how you do the background, it makes those two pictures stand out. and if they were on a white background they wouldnt be as good

i am by no means saying they are YOUR best work, cuz they arent

but they appeal to my eyes....

you're by far ahead of me, and you are an inspiration to me and for that i thank you man

i actually sat down and painted something today bc of you...

you never know what your art will do for other people, for that i am thankful

WOW! That is cool bro! Never a waste of time to create my man. Kind of made me happy there dude!

Just do what you like if it makes you feel good then it is art.....that is what I do....works out ok.

Along that line, I am going to get back to scratching on a pencil piece to pop the cherry on a new art pad I got...drives me nuts to have a pad with nothing on it but, I am splitting my time between that and remodeling a mannequin to look like one of my chicks I paint.....got buddies threatening to steal her after they saw the boob/booty enhancements I am putting on the thing.....once I get it painted and barely clothed, I will post some pix.....the women will HATE it! muahahahahahahaha

The equation I use is...I draw the top of an eyelid

Eyes are 1 eyewidth apart.
eyebrows are 1 eye height up
nostrils are 1 eye width down from the tear duct
top lip is 1 eye height down from nostril.
chin edge is 1 eye width down from bottom lip.
ears are 1 eye width out from the outside corner of the eye with the top of the ear at the eyebrow line and the bottom of the ear at the nostril line.

the more you change it up...the more individuality you can add to a face.

That is why I don't bother with being exact....cause I like trying to make the faces different....gets tough to do after so many decades.

Right brain; left brain thinking always seems to influence art. It is off topic sort of but I think that left brain thinking is what makes so much of Krupa's work have such great sexuality. Know when I pick up vibes on a guy 90% of the time he is left handed.

Krupa

that is the best advice I have ever recieved

not sure if you were giving it to me personally or to us all

i just hope all of the artists out there take it, as I did

Thank you

Cool Billy. If you can use it...fine, if not, then it don't hurt anything to know something but, choose not to use it.

Dude, I got all sorts of tricks I have picked up.

Here is a good one...

Drop $1.50 on a peephole.....yep, just like you have on your front door and keep it next to your art stuff. As you draw or paint....occasionally pick it up and look at your work...it lets you see your piece from across the room without having to walk away from it.....that way you can see which lines or details need to be brought out or should be faded in....

it really helps on full sized paintings or murals too. I use it constantly on any thing I know will be framed and hung on a wall.

well crap! I guess photo bucket deletes the pix that have nipple showing.....

I noticed something....if a nude looks miserable...then it is classical art.

If a nude looks happy...then it is porn.

I think your right girl....I noticed most righties do alot of symetry with hard angles and lots of presicion...

lefties tend to have more fluid flowing stuff....

me personally, I just think women are gorgeous and I never lose interest in eyestripping...I mean studying them....hehehehehe

Sure most of the gals are insane...but, Damn! They sure are fun!

Dude, I kind of already do that! So, I am proud of myself that I hadn't been wasting my time in that area. What i do though is take pictures of what I'm drawing with my camera. When ya do that you can zoom in on it. You get a whole new aspect on your art that way. Ya know your typical "digital camera"? It has 8x zoom and all of that? Pretty nifty? It helps get different perspectives, too..ya know? But I am going to do what you said, too. I like that idea. That way I don't have 30 different pictures of a drawing that I don't have any more. Ya know what I mean? Bc i do that. I will draw something. Take a picture or two or three. And then be like, no...that isn't right. Then change it...and then go on my camera and either save them and be like..."this is what it looked like" or just delete them. Sometimes I save them though. As kind of a "guide" for myself. So I know what I did last time compared to next time. Sort of a self teaching guide. Ya get me? But thats awesome. Good idea!

Moon...you are a doll! Muah!

Bobby sox....you are gonna look at me like I am retarded....

that pic is water colour back ground...
a blue magic marker....dot dot dot...then sprayed with water from a misting bottle to make the dots bleed and blend...
and a regular bic pen....I do all my eyelashes with a regular pen...it is the only thing I have found that lets me do a fat base and feather out to an ultra fine point.

so basically a magic marker and a ball point pen!

oh yeah....white paint for the teeth and eyes...two dots of paint for the reflections

I always wanted to **** Julia Childs....she is hawt! hahahahahaha

I usually just work with what I got....which happens to be the cheapest crap available....

The only fairly pricy thing I use is my .003 mm rapidograph pens and even they are really affordable.

Not about to drop $8 for a tube of acrylic titanium white when I get the cheap water colour white at 2 for a buck. It is just as white...plus easier to clean the brushes.
