In omaha, we had access to two public t.v. stations. 2 months ago, we lost one on cable. The only one that showed all the Britcoms and other Brittish shows we love to watch. If you wanted to get them, you needed to buy a higher tier of cable.

Suddenly, that station is back on the basic cable again. I'm guessing it took 2 months to get enough complaints in. Thing is, I seem to recall they tried this a number of years ago.

We want our PBS and we don't believe that we should have to buy a higher tier to pay for 'public' t.v. Not when people are already paying pledges to support their favorite programs.

My local PBS shows Keeping up Apperances and As Time Goes By, I love both. For brief time they also showed a show called Posh Nosh, it was amusing. I wonder if that show is still on the air on some BBC.

There's a few shows on BBC that I always tried to watch. Keeping up Appearances, Ballykissangel, and Father Ted. Bally K is more or less a soap opera/comedy, and the other two are comedies. Sadly, the day after they finished shooting season 3 of Father Ted, the star died of a heart attack.

I wish they would produce new episodes of "The Vicar of Dibley"

hun, where I am at, I can not get ANY basic channels unless I pay for the very basic cable package which can very anywhere from 15 dollars a month through 40 dollars a month depending on who you subscribe to. This includes PBS, NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX.

I agree with you that it should not be legal to charge people for the basic channels, but it seems itis able to be done.

Well being a Brit I like watching the comedy
Trouble is no matter what you pay here in my area some of the shows you are talking about are not available

Make an investment and buy the series in DVD, you will always have it and you don't need to pay huge monthly charges
Try the following
1 Only Fools and Horses
2 The Black Adder
3 Fawlty Towers
4 Ain't It Half Hot Mum
5 Dad's Army
6 Doing Porridge
7 Open All Hours
8 Mind Your Language
9 Not The nine O'clock News
10 Some Mothers Do Have Em
The rest have been mentioned in the forum
