someone gets drunk, so drunk they`re not of sound mind they are not themself

then they get in a car and drive off

they are put in jail for something they did when they were not in a state to make thought out desisions

but some one who smokes, knowing full well that they will almost certainly get cancer, is given sympothy and treated without judgement

Its simple really. drinking and driving is illegal. smoking is not no matter what state of mind you are in.

Well,

Im gonna be honest(cause thats how I get down)...

I have breast cancer, and yes I smoke.

I have cut down alot, and am trying to quit, but its a bioootch to quit smoking cigarettes.
I was able to quit smokin meth,(cold turkey), ive been clean about a year and a half now...but these ciggies have got me by the short hairs.

I do see your point.

If a person aint tryin to stay healthy, why should we foot the bill for their health care when they get sick! And its a damn good point too!

BTW....I pay a co-payment for my care, so I guess im 1/2 forgiven.

I also agree with you, but as americans we have too much sympathy for people when it comes to legal toxins we put into our systems.

I have never asked for or expected sympathy.

Ive payed into the system by working all my life, and had deductions out of my paycheck for it all along, so I dont feel at all bad that I get 1/2 of my healthcare paid for. I paid it working, so I think its only fair that I can use it now when I need it.

Its my money!

And may I also remind anyone about all of the thousands of dollars that were taken out of my paychecks every year, and my refund checks were like a few hundred dollars.

Now, ill give them a pass on it. But I know at the time I always felt like I was getting screwed!!
