yep!!
If I put a lock on the liquor cabinet......they want to get in there and see what all the fuss is about.....If i let them have a little champagne on their birthday the "intrigue" of it all, is nill I think that anything that the President does, the Right Wing Wackos make a big issue out of it. Then it goes VIRAL nationwide because of all crap that FOX and conservative talk radio beam into the heads of the people. If parents decide to forbid their kids to hear what the President has to say, that's just going to make them more curious and they will want to know what they missed. Kids are smart, they will find a way to hear the speech. I am sure it will go on YouTube. |

That's why we have such an issue with teenage pregnancy, and such.
Growing up, all I ever heard was "DON'T DO IT!, IT'S WRONG, WAIT UNTIL YOUR MARRIED". Now, don't get me wrong, I agree with these statements lol. But as soon as you tell a teenager not to do something, they are going to be even more curious, and when one of them tries it, and finds out how pleasurable sex is, they tell their friends, and then the friends all want to do it cause it is so fun and pleasurable. Yes they usually grow up and settle down a bit, but the point here is communication and not censorship on a general basis. yep!! Kids are a lot smarter than people think. When they DO VIEW the President's speech, that their Parents FORBID them to see/hear, they may come to the conclusion that their Parents are off the Deep End.

lol, very good possibility methinks maybe that is why so many people are arguing about what to teach our children, what about you?

Willing you causing problems in here??? Naw, I lasted just a little while and went on to bed. After thinking about it, I rememered, if you tell a kid they can't do it or they are forbidden to, that makes the attraction even stronger. I'll just leave it up to BHO to step on his own wang and expose his real self to them. |

Here's another question, What parent really goes to the school, gets copies of the textbooks an reads them cover to cover so as to insure their children aren't bein taught something they don't want em learnin?? This sooooo reminds me of when I was a kid an they started introducin Sex Ed in school. The parents were up in arms like crazy. More than half the parents havin a fit, never even talked to their kids about sex or where babies came from. Heavenly, Do u have kids? If so, I'd enjoy ur response to the above question. I'd also enjoy ur response to the previous questions I proposed : I've got a question? Do parents honestly think they can censor everything their kids see, hears or reads???? I mean let's get serious. U can't follow ur kids around 24/7 monitorin every little thing. However, U can have an open, honest relationship with ur kids an talk to them about how u feel about somthing If I had kids, I would inspect the materials they would study, yes. A responsible parent would. At one time, this was standard practice, you know. Even by their own standards, the government schools are a failure in comparison (see the work by John Stossel and G. Edward Griffin on this topic for the stats and historical details) Not to sound like a smarta$$ but ur livin in fantasy land if u think u can honestly censor everything ur child ever reads, hears or sees. A responsible parent talks to their children an lets them go out into the world. If the child is old enough to go into the world, the parent can let them earn their living and do what they please-I agree! :) This country babysits kids too much anyways, and the adults become big kids reliant on the welfare State. |

Heavenly, I hope that u've purchased some acerage in the middle of no man's land up in Wyoming somewhere cause that's the only way u'll be able to censor what ur kids see, hear or read. U'll get a rude awakenin when u hav kids of ur own, if u ever do, cause then u'll realize what I'm sayin is true.

I'm just sayin, a decent parent would be responsible about this kinda thing. For example, I have no plans on owning a TV (I hate the idiot box). Monitoring the computer is relatively easy with net-nanny, etc. I never said it was EASY, I said it's RESPONSIBLE parenting. Actually, I am looking into property way away from the city. Can't stand it around here. I need to be self sufficient so I don't have to rely on these city/state/federal goons. |

Good luck. I just got ten miles out of the closest town in June. I am renting right now, but hopefully will have my own place next year, and within a year of that I will be completely self-sufficient as well. And I agree wit you on the idiot box, lol though I DO keep a cheap and old one for the occasional movie. But no cable lol. |

I happen to luv the idiot box, some really great lil people live in mine Love mine too. I don't watch soaps or reality shows or entertainment sitcoms. I absolutley love the educational channels. Science, history, national geographic, and many others that should be excellent to expose children too, instead of the mindless crap they do watch regularly. Not allowing your children to watch what is good about TV is silly to me. It really angered me to find out, in my Twenties, what my parents prevented me from learning, and it certainly explained their uptight attitudes through out their lives. |

Educational TV once in a while is a good visual aid (especially for history), but not as good a habit as reading, thinking, and first hand experience. |
