I have not heard about this......

Is the subject education???

either way

I think it's ok that the president wants to talk to/at the children of this country.

I wonder what Dick Nixon would have said to me...when I was in school......?????????

"I will end the war".....he did.

"I will open a meaningful dialog with the Red Chinese".....he did...

"I will do whatever it takes to win the next election"....he did..Only Forrest Gump Saw the burglars and called the fuzz.....

Here's another question, What parent really goes to the school, gets copies of the textbooks an reads them cover to cover so as to insure their children aren't bein taught something they don't want em learnin?? This sooooo reminds me of when I was a kid an they started introducin Sex Ed in school. The parents were up in arms like crazy. More than half the parents havin a fit, never even talked to their kids about sex or where babies came from.shades

Heavenly, Do u have kids? If so, I'd enjoy ur response to the above question. I'd also enjoy ur response to the previous questions I proposed :

I've got a question? Do parents honestly think they can censor everything their kids see, hears or reads???? I mean let's get serious. U can't follow ur kids around 24/7 monitorin every little thing. However, U can have an open, honest relationship with ur kids an talk to them about how u feel about somthing

If I had kids, I would inspect the materials they would study, yes. A responsible parent would. At one time, this was standard practice, you know. Even by their own standards, the government schools are a failure in comparison (see the work by John Stossel and G. Edward Griffin on this topic for the stats and historical details)

Boo, U don't remember the lil belt & pad getup for that time of the month way back when? The belt looked kinda like a garter belt with lil clips that u attached the pad to. Come on now!

Oh for heaven sakes.. LOL, ok now I get it. Damn those things were a royal pain.

My kids are exposed to as much as possible good bad and the ugly....that is how one learns....

They have been around the world(better traveled than me) seen the best and the most horrific...then we talk about it and they make up their own minds form their own opinions .....

with my influence ..they are just teenagers after all...

You a smartass? Never.. grin! I would want my kids exposed to the real world, no harm of course, but real people. I went to private school, Catholic and frankly it only prepared me to be completely naive and totally unprepared for the real world. I should have known what to expect so I could have avoided making some oh so typical mistakes in young adulthood.

U shelter ur kid an never let them experience life they're gonna go butt wild the first chance they can. Prime example, my oldest daughter lived with her father from 9yrs old-16yrs old. He didn't let her do squat. Kept her under his thumb constantly. Do I really need to tell u what she put me thru??? She went butt fudderin crazy outta her mind an tried to send me to the funny farm!!!ohwell

Talk to ur kids an let them experience lifedrinker

Right on....!!

If they are not old enough to understand something.....so what....when they are old enough..they will be ahead of their peers....

Nothing the President says to them will change their belief systems....
Hopefully, it will spawn some meaningful conversations .....

My 10 yr old Tyler knows my views on Obama. Why?? Cause I TALK TO HIM!!!!! I also don't shelter him. I also let him make his own decisions about whether he agrees with someone or not. I don't try an knock it into his brain that I don't trust politicians period. He'll come up with his conclusions. drinker

Paranoia................................it's everywherescared scared scared

It's gone past paranoia....it's getting scary with all the hate.
I live in AZ and you see what's happening here on National News. Guns at the rallies, Preachers praying for death to President. You go into any gun store and all the ammo shelves are empty.

Right wing radio & TV are inciting revolution. Anarchists & Militia are coming out of the woodwork. Hate is everywhere you look.

It's just going to take a small spark.

That is troubling to say the least.

indoctrination is what government school is FOR! If you don't like it, homeschool or private school the rugrats.

Ohh, puh-lease. I went to public schools and I wasn't indoctrinated.
Btw, they're run by the Board of Education here.

Oh really? Did you learn that The Great Depression was caused by wreckless capitalists? That WWII was necessary because of Hitler's invasion of Poland? That the Confederate States of America was the "bad guy" in the Civil War? That the New Deal saved American Capitalism?

If you answered yes to any of these(and believe it), you've been indoctrinated.

I studied those topics in my history class in college.

The majority of adults are refusing to buy into the Obamination. Now, he'll try to sell the kids his drug.

If you wish to not have your kids indoctorinated by BHO and the Gov., keep them home on Sept. 8, 2009.

Tell your school superintendants how you feel about it.

President Obama will deliver a national address directly to students on Tuesday, which will be the first day of classes for many children across the country. The address, to be broadcast live on the White House's Web site, was announced in a letter to school principals last week by Education Secretary Arne Duncan.

In advance of the address, the Department of Education has offered educators "classroom activities" to coincide with Obama's message. The suggested lesson plan that calls on school kids to write letters to themselves about what they can do to help President Obama is troubling some education experts, who say it establishes the president as a "superintendent in chief" and may indoctrinate children to support him politically.

What do you think about Obama's classroom campaign?

Next thing they'll want to do is send Recruiters in to get the kids hot to enlist in the Military.

what

Being sarcastic. They've done that for years. During Viet Nam, they were at the school a couple times a year.

That's a fact---f--kers got me! Came at least twice a year.

They might be excited about seeing the president, I think anything he can say that might get kids to stay in school has to be worth it.

I think that anything that the President does, the Right Wing Wackos make a big issue out of it. Then it goes VIRAL nationwide because of all crap that FOX and conservative talk radio beam into the heads of the people.

If parents decide to forbid their kids to hear what the President has to say, that's just going to make them more curious and they will want to know what they missed.

Kids are smart, they will find a way to hear the speech. I am sure it will go on YouTube. laugh
