In other words, keep moving. Volenteer with others who are in worse shape, or need guidance (kids). Even if you don't feel like it- do a hr, it may turn into a few. Avoid meds unless it gets chronic.
Change your diet. Cut out the fats- fried stuff, drink lots of water and eat more veggies, fruit and protien.
Alot of people are sad these days...you may just be picking up on their energy. Yoga helps with that- you center yourself without being selfish.

Seriously here, the above advice is good about keeping busy and eating healthy.. Take it from someone who had a breakdown at 23 and was 2 mo pregnant with 4th child(thats enough to make you depressed,,LOL)
Was in hospital 12 days with 7 electroshock treatments for depression... promised myself never to go there again and haven't.

Keep up with keeping your schedual full..dont leave time for depression. If I stop long enuf to realize things ,I have an elderly mother addicted to morphine and she dont walk well. A suicidal 17 yr old,{heavy background w/ father} and a boarder downstairs that is manic depressive....wow. Ad in the dog w/ separation anxiety and I could hit depression easy...but I keep motivated, stay busy. Good luck!

The thing that helps me is good friends, just hanging out and maybe talking to someone new. I am not as depressed as much, but just go through mood swings and the meds I am on help it, along with changing my lifestyle a little bit. Being able to to talk to someone always helps me and even if its not about my mood just shooting the **** helps. Been through a lot even though I am young, you just have to get excited about the little things in life and not dwell on what could happen. Best of luck to you. I am also a good listener if you ever need to vent.

1. dont lie to yourself about anything.
2. dont disillussion yourself in to anything.
3. Have great friends around you who are accountable, responsible, and carring kinds of people. They will be compassionet, but not let you off the hook.
4. counciling is great!!!!! even if your not depressed, its great to go anyway.
5. Realize you are stressed, confussed, hurt, angry or what ever. Own your feelings and then deal with each of them 1 at a time.
6. believe in yourself
7. believe in yourself
8. believe in yourself

Thanks man. I like that answer drinker

I was depressed too. I found that the biggest single thing I did was to stop having anything with caffeine in it. From there I decided that our emotions and mental well-being are inextricably linked to our physical health. Cut out all pills, drugs, stimulants, get lots of water and sleep and you'll never look back.

Open your heart to God. He is always there. God is my refuge and strength.
Psalm 138:7
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

One day I was burdened, feeling low, and sick also; I reached out to someone that was sick and going though a lot, and something incredible happened not even 10 mins after that. I felt immediate comfort, love, and acceptance. It was the most beautiful feeling. I no longer felt sick, depressed, or down. That was Gods' way of letting me know--You are Special and I am here for you. God loves us to support, love, and listen to others in need. This pleases God. But Most of all You get the Best Benefits.

May God Bless and Keep. You. Smile God Loves You!
