Sometime last week (I wasn't paying attention), we had our 150,000th "nice guy" thread.

Lord knows I have TRIED to overcompensate by starting a couple of "Arrogant Narcissistic Conceited Jerks" thread, but that hasn't gone anywhere, either.

Why is that?

Well, women don't like "nice guys" because they're "too nice."

So maybe they don't like "Arrogant Narcissistic Conceited Jerks" because they're too arrigant, narcissistic, conceited, and jerky.

What do women want?

(Sorry, we've had 113,893 "What Do Women Want?" threads already.)

As usual, I have a theory.

Completely untested, probably untestable, but I'm sticking with it because that's what I do.

1.) Women want a guy they can domesticate.

2.) The "nice guy" is already pretty much domesticated, therefore presents no challenge, and may, in fact, be someone else's "domestication leftovers." Nobody wants to chew used gum.

3.) The ANCJ cannot be domesticated and is therefore undesirable.

4.) The only viable strategy, then, is something between the polar extremes.

Women want something midway between Nice and Arrogant (my favorite shampoo, by the way), a challenge but not too MUCH of a challenge, domesticatable but requiring enough effort to do so that they can feel they have "accomplished" something.

good lord, more about the domestication. It is a fallacy and obviously a subject that has left you bitter. That is unfortunate because even is someone met you and liked you, they would never stand a chance.

Maybe if it was Billie Piper....

Well, I personally seek a nice guy. Would you mind telling the masses (or at least me) what you mean by "domesticate."
If I find an ANCJ and need to domesticate him I would like to know where to start.

I was actually trying to start a club or something, but it didn't really take off. SOME people seem to have issues with proclaiming themselves as ANCJs. I figure, "Meh, you are what you are...."

I mean, Colonel Klink standing over you with a hydrogen bomb, saying, "You VILL get married, and you VILL have 2.4 children, and there is NOTTINK you can do to CHANGE that, Hogan!"
