I personally believe in a duality.. a Male (the intellect/solid) and a Female (emotion/fluid) that together are The Creator of All That Is...

some view these as 2 individual & separate entities... some see it as 1 with two distinct aspects.

My philosophy is this: There are many roads to Canada.. and not every one starts at the same spot.. so even if everyone is headed the same destination, your journey and map that you use to get there will be very different from someone else's. Some will take 1 road.. others 2.. others a multitude... In the End, you all end up at Home

What I find interesting is that while I read the answers that both of you mention about a single Creator.

Do you believe this to be true or do you think it is possible that it could be many creators?

Or how about a female creator instead of a male.

What do you feel is more true for you personally?

I believe in a single creative force that is both male and female (two sides of one coin).

For me the female "side" would be Mother earth..the Divine Feminine, the womb.. that nurtures all us.

That is where the term mother nature always comes from isn't it. I do like to say it in my speech often "mother nature" without even really thinking about it, but it is very well possible that it has its reasons.

Mother nature nourishes us indeed. flowerforyou

The Native Americans of this country always have such beautiful sayings about the Earth. The love is unparallel when they begin talking about the water, land, sky, spirits, and nature.

One can only fall in love with the planet when one learns the wisdom of these beautiful people.

but it is of course not limited with the natives, there are also other spiritual practices that have such great knowledge on the matter also.

That is one of my favorite aspects of her.

God/dess has so many aspects. Hence, the large number of gods and goddesses. Each one representing a different "personality trait" of the Creator. We, as humans, cannot fathom God. It is just not possible to grasp the infinite with our finite minds. So, we have gods and goddesses that bring it down to a personal level that we can relate to.

I think this is the most activity the "other" thread gets all year round. If you go to the Buddhism thread you wait for a reply for about 18 days. Talking about a slow thread! The reason why I shifted to the other thread to have a little faster reaction to questions or chatting in general as a wholelaugh

I think the Buddhists are too busy meditating to be chatting in threadslaugh laugh

*OFF TOPIC STORY ALERT*

My 9 yr old daughter was browsing thru a catalogue I recently received (The Pyramid).. making her wish list. She's oooh-ing & aaaaahhh-ing. Then she asks me: Mommy, can you give me $22?? I ask Why?? She replies: cause I want to get this book (a Spell Book).

So I tell her, that she is not ready for such a book. That she needs to learn more about Protection.. how to cleanse, bless & seal.. and a MUCH better understanding of cause & effect (right & wrong). I told her that once I feel she has that down, then I would teach her some basic ones.

She got sooooooooooooo excited! And says: COOL!!!! Can you teach me how to turn someone into a frog first???

noway noway noway

ooooooooooookay then! slaphead

So I explain that a Spell is very much the same as a Prayer... you clarify your intent and tell the Universe what you desire to accomplish.. you Talk to the Universe (same as prayer).

Her response???

Okay.. then how about how to turn someone into a rabbit ??

surprised surprised surprised

Obviously.. I am NOT getting thru to her! LOL laugh

So I explain again that it is NOT about turning someone/something into something else... that Spells/Prayers cannot and would not do that.

Her response?? But that's what Witches do. I explained, no that is NOT what they do. She retorts: Well then, that's not a real witch! I had to then END it by explaining that what she has seen on TV is what is NOT real .

Moral of the story?? THANK YOU DISNEY CHANNEL! I have a LOT of deprogramming to do! rofl

You mentioned the Native Americans...
I wouldn't post this anywhere else, I did share this with Erin, Lightvoice.

The other day I had a 3 hour phone call with a Cherokee Elder in Missouri..
He doesn't refer to himself as an Elder, very humble man. He is indeed an Elder..73 years old, sooo knowledgeable. Shared great wisdom with me, gave me an energy shift...much to think about and put some pep back in my step.
No judgment, no criticism.. just pure love. I am honored to have been led to him.

I know how that goes! I have 5 and 7 year old girls. I asked my daughter one day why she was blinking at the television. She said she was trying to turn it on with her mind like Prue (Charmed) does. slaphead

P.S. LOVE The Pyramid catalogue. smile2

Blame the German children story tellers such as Grimm Brothers for doing that! Walt Disney certainly took most of the cartoon ideas from Europe, especially around Germany to create his cartoons. It is interesting that witches where portrayed as such horrible people when in actuality they where mid-wives for my culture. People that really found solutions to actual problems for the sick, troubled, or even conflicted.

As a child I had the opportunity to celeberate many great German traditional holidays unaffected by Christianity with family members and friends allowing me to see the different idealogies on what worked for the environment at the time and even now in some smaller villages in Bavaria, especially near the Alp Mountains.

I would say that your child will be well taken care off as you show your knowledge and wisdom to her. flowerforyou

Cherish his wisdom for he shows an ancient belief system that truly offers peace in my opinion. I am also always humble to have the opportunity to spend time with the older generation of native americans while I still live here in the US.

Yes... she thinks "Wizards of Waverly Place" is how life not only should be, but IS.. except I am keeping the magic spell words from her! slaphead laugh laugh

Now.. to her credit... she is a natural energy healer (never gave her an attunement, as she did not need it).. and she has always been able to see those in Spirit/Angels/Guides. Plus.. well... there is that whole "Mommy is different" thing too...

For the sake of humanity, I hope she never finds a way to turn people into frogs!
