Yes, I hear that a lot. When I first started the job I'm at, one of the
ladies accused me of being too nice and sweet to be believable?!

Yes, I have been told that I am too nice, also to grow a backbone and
stop being a doormat, so it has worked against me at times obviously. I
worked in the prison system for 17 years as an admin. secretary and
during 9 of those years had a lot of interaction with inmate families
who had questions/issues. I would make an effort to resolve their
question/issue and get them an answer, whatever it was. They really
appreciated it, and actually got noticed by my bosses for doing that
because it took a lot of the heat off them because I stopped the phone
calls at my level and they didn't have to deal with the issues.

Also have been told I am too responsible by an old supervisor. Remember
her telling me (this was in the 80s) that when someone would say, "darn,
I was going to do _____, but it is raining" - I would say "I'm sorry."
She told me, "it is not your fault it is raining." You know, she was
right.

I know I'm too nice. I'd like to meet a guy who's been accused of bein
too nice...lol, cus the bad boys just ain't cuttin it

LMAO...yes just a few weeks ago. I put a bid up for a lead postition at
work and one of our Operations manager turned me down because I was too
nice and nobody would take me serious.

I've had quite few people say. Hey. You're a really nice guy.
I don't quite get what they really mean.
Just a thought,maybe I should consider changing?

Wow, what good responses!!! There has to be a cutoff point between being
too nice and be masochistic I think. I think Popeye the sailorman said
it best in my opinion when he said, "I have stands all I can stands and
I can't stands no more."

OH yeah, I am too nice most the time. But I agree that everyone has a
breaking point, mine was when my ex called me a wh0re and i chucked a
big ass candle at his head.... (blacked his eye with it )
