Good grief it's been forever since I've had internet access @ home. Long story & no need to go there. Anyway, what shall it be tonight? Hmmm...
Here's a great one from Disciple, "Things Left Unsaid". Very thought provoking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmtj4mIxkd0 Ohio's own Relient K and "Forgiven". Well?... are you telling your friend about the speck in their eye, when all the while you have a plank protruding from your own? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH50M-hlUEw P.O.D. (Payable on Death) & "Alive". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOESyEljmFE Please comment & enjoy. tf73 |

I love the newer breed of Christian music. It's such higher quality, and the lyrics poetically mask their intent so everybody can listen. I have many friends that are extremely non-religious, and even they can enjoy TFK, Five Iron Frenzy, Skillet, etc.
Of course I do enjoy throwing on some DC talk or OC supertones! Keep it going man. |

Thanks for the encouragement. It's time for an update & since the previous poster mentioned Thousand Foot Krutch, how about we hear from them. FYI, they're from up Canada way. Please pray for our Canadian Christian brothers & sisters with the "PC & acceptance" movement going on up there, it has become extremely difficult for Christians to voice their views & objections in public without serious repercussions. I apologize for the intro in 1 of the videos. Just can't seem to escape them. "It Falls Apart" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elIspF-HS-c How about some vocal contributions from Trevor, their lead singer, on 1 of Manafest's songs, who is also from Canada. "Impossible" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_ew-jMy794 Finally, I can't help plugging another Ohio band Sanctus Real,"I'm Not Alright". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2LCvCBaqVg&feature=related Enjoy, tf73 |

How about something a little on the "heavy" side? Seventh Day Slumber - "Surrender" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R43PaCDKnhY And from the "metal" side of the house. Demon Hunter - "Carry Me Down" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oD2t1qLJGLQ |

I would highly suggest listening to Joseph Rojas' testimony (the frontman of Seventh Day Slumber). I had the opportunity to hear them live a couple of weeks ago and it is enough to bring anyone to tears! He has an amazing story! Sometimes it's not even just the songs that make these bands worth listening to - it is good to look a little bit deeper and see what it is that they stand for!

earthlytaurus76.. hi there.. your comments i find rather interesting.. why exactly do you find 99% of Christian music gay..? What exactly makes them gay..? Don't misunderstand.., I'm not having a go at you.. Just would love to understand your view point , and why you feel as such.. As a lot of Christian music today has gone long ways from the early cheesy ned flanders stuff.. I find today's Christian music very relevant.., especially when God's hand can and does touch soo many hurting, hopeless, and hurting people out there through it.. I as a muso myself have seen God minister to people through so powerfully, and it's so amazing to be a part of.. I've been around music for a very long time, and i love a large variety of music.., i think the quality is up to par with the world music if not better in a lot of cases.. Why? Because Christian music (and i only speak of which, has God's Word as foundation of it all), has power, healing and hope.., not pointless words that come out of a bitter, angry, spiteful, lustful, love deprived, broken and hopeless heart.. As the bible says " as a man sows, that he shall reap".. It goes with music too.. Not to sound super spiritual, however.., the kind of music we sow into our spirits will have a huge effect on how think, feel, handle life issues, and even look at our amazing God.. Just look what music has done to youth of today compared to youth 10-20 years ago... No one cares anymore... No one has any hope.. So as a fellow christian can you elaborate a bit.. thanks heaps.. AMEN! I think there is going be a lot of open eyes and ears when everyone is going to be in heaven. Because, I read that all types of music is going to be celebrated! Which is AWESOME!!!! |

I was travelling by car last year and came to a dead area for alternative music on the radio. I hit the seek button and it stopped on a Christian radio station that played alternative Christian music. I was floored how good it was!
I try to find similar stations whenever I am on the road. The stations are usually at the lower end of the FM dial around 89-91. |
