Have you ever had people in your life that try to control you, and when that didn't work they tried to bring you down/slander you and if that didn't work they tried guilt and when that didn't work they tried interfering in your life AND when that didn't work they tried other things???? Just curious...

Yup. My ex was a horribly controlling person and did all of that.

Just recently I was talking to someone who turned out to have a lot of those same qualities, amazing how I attract them - I pulled away, and he called me vulgar names. I quit talking to him, now he sends me harassing little insulting notes every week or so.

That's a red flag for me when talking to someone.. It's even worse when a family member or friend pulls that crap...

My ex went so far as to send his friends to spy on me when I was at working to make sure I wasn't talking to other guys, etc. He was awful.

My ex pulled some of that.. I'm ok with it b/c my heart was done.. With family I think it hurts more b/c it's harder to make your heart done...

i had a good friend do that to me i whiped him wen i heard the stuff he said about me. of course i landed in jail but i got off with no charges yet again.

Speed I'm too old for that.. These days I just walk away.. I sucks letting them think they go it or are right but the bigger person walks away no matter how frustrating that is.. At least that's what I try to go with...

i had a old bf from 20yrs ago that was controling but also proswaysive and yea jealous he was also a alcohilc.. i still talk to him every so often. he lives in nevada now, he moved down there awhile back after his mom died, and then he moved back here for awhile and moved back to nevada last summer.. i just hate being around him when hes drunk.

You hear about them in the news all the time. There's a recent one where he allegedly killed his model wife and stuffed her into a suitcase. Be careful!

Chevy, I have family like that.. I have walked away.. I feel guilty but well if they are out for themselves why shouldn't I protect myself...

This last one I was talking to has been kind of scary, leaving me nasty messages randomly, then I got a call at 6:30 a.m. the other morning, no message, but I did a reverse trace on the number, it came up as a cell phone to the state he is from, don't know for sure it was him, but could be. He is just acting totally unbalanced. I don't know how to get him to stop, short of changing phone numbers and IM account numbers, etc. He is a trucker and travels through my state about once a week. I am trying the silent treatment now to see if that works, nothing else has.

Just ignore him Marie, he will go away.. 99% of them go away..

Ya know the older I have gotten the more pickier I have became.......If they try to control me, tell me what to do, put me down, act as if they are better, ignore me, ect..... I tend to shake my head wonder WTF they are thinking and just walk away. I don't have time for ones like that...
