When they come to my house in October, they sure don't like my Halloween decorations.

They also didn't like it when they came over and I was leaving to donate blood. You know that I had to let them know that I was doing that.bigsmile
Well Halloween is according to the encyclpiedia a pagan holiday. And the bible does say that blood is sacred belongs to God and to obstain from it. They do not believe in blood transfusions for these reasons.

I understand where they are coming from in regards to Halloween.
But...I'm not a Pagan celebrating a Pagan holiday. It's about candy and costumes to the children. I'm decorating for the children so they have fun on that day. My child loves it too.

I can't relate to the blood transfusions though. It saves lives.

They are sharp dressers.......smokin
Yea but imagine the smell in the car on the drive home when there are 4 to 8 people riding after several hours of walking around the neighborhood in the 106 deg Texas summer heat dressed in a suit. Thats bad mmmkay thats real bad.

Pretty much the same as all religions. There is a book written by man that has all these doctrines, open to interpretation, that should be followed to the tee, open to interpretation, or all hell breaks loose.
Are you an Atheist or Agnostic?

I don't classify myself. Others have told me I am too spiritual to be atheist. I have no questions so I am not an agnostic. I do not believe in the man made gods, none of them. They are created by man, whether he had good intentions when he created the religions or not, I do not know.
My impression of you is New Age maybe Wicka or the like.

That would be "Wicca". And, her views are not even close to Wiccan from what I have seen her write here or elsewhere.

Of course, I could be wrong. ohwell

they believe in waking you up early in the morning and standing on your porch preaching to you when you are in a groggy stupor from a hangover

And if they don't manage to convert you they walk down the road shouting "and you will burn in the hell of Satan. Long live the Watch Tower Society"

Isn't that what they do?

How did I get into this thread I don't even do religion

I do have Wiccan tendencies but I am not Wiccan.

They believe in the respect of all religions and non religions. They believe in personal power and responsibility. They believe in what you put out, bad or good, you get back. They believe just by living we effect our environment so try to live well and responsibly. They believe in living this life and cherishing everyday. These are things that I believe in also.

They do not beleive in a burning hell. The Watch Tower Bible and Tract society is the legal name for the non profit organization that produces there literature.

Well, like I said I could be wrong. laugh

I was basing my assumptions on your past statements about organized religion and man-made gods. Wicca is very much an organized religion, which is why I was never got very deeply involved in it. And, they generally follow specific pagan gods. But, you're right about all the other stuff.

Utopian beliefs perhaps. So they believe you dont need God you are capable of determining good and evil on your own aside from God? Is'nt that the original lie? You know the whole Eve and serpent story. The tree of the knowledge of good and bad.

If they don't believe in hell, what do they believe?
The soul that is sinning it itself will die. Those determined to be evil by God die and cease to exist. Having not shown faith in Jesus Christ ransom sacrifice they are not resurected to eternal life on a paradise earth wich God will make here on earth after Armageddon. 144,000 people will be chosen by god to rule as kings and priests in heaven they call them the "annointed" and the righteous "other sheep" will live forever on a paradise earth. At Armageddon Jesus and his angels will fight with Satan and his demons Jesus wins. From there he will lock Satan up for 1000 years at wich point he will be let go and those that follow him will be destroyed with him never to exist again.

You're assuming a Wiccan believes that story to be true. Wiccans (and other Pagans) don't believe in the literal interpretation of that story or in hell or in Satan or in any number of Christian beliefs. You're injecting your own beliefs into another religion and asking them to be justified. It won't work.
