 doing something about it, the hardest  Kudos for reaching both

I commend U for taking this action for now U will be taking appropriate action to resolve these issues rather than remaining on a self-destruction course.I likewise have issues from my childhood however they were resolved w/ 2 yrs.of counseling.Stay strong & do not deviate from this path.Godspeed!Cy

15 years sober off drugs. I can relate. This day is the day your life changes. This is the day YOU control your life and the drugs do not control your life. Having that control is a powerful thing. This is the day you will enjoy the rest of your life and enjoy and celebrate your life and respect its value. Substitute your addiction to drugs with healthy addictions that accomplish something. Volunteer time to charity. That's what making amends to those you hurt is all about. Make amends to those you hurt including yourself. You are smart. You know the difference between right and wrong. Do the right thing from here on out even if it hurts. Its part of the healing. Best of luck.
