Just an observation...in all this to-ing and for-ing in the forums here,
I have not seen one conversion...one low hanging friut plucked from the
tree.

Nor one independent butterfly, fruit fly, however one wishes to
describe, non christians, co-erce, or convert a person who believes and
follows the faith of christianity.

If anyhthing I have seen understanding and tolerance grow, for the
differences, and perhaps even clarity in each person's faith, whatever
it may be.

To sow seeds of division, and suspicion, and to encourage or inflame
with fear, in others, is not a great way to go, no matter what one's
belief structure

Jess642,

People who post are usually set in their ways. People who read...aren't
sure yet. My point is that there is far more views of a thread than
there are posts. That means there are a lot of people who read a
thread, who never make a comment. Maybe they are a new Christian or
someone who is interested in Christianity and then they read a thread
with a completely unscriptural interpretation of scripture and beleive
it. That misunderstanding of scripture creates a shaky foundation that
might drive the person away from Christianity or drive them into a cult.

scttr - your post was in response to karizman's, right?

True. It might. But it also might help them grow as an open minded
Christian.

Kat KariZman was not speaking to such as you. You present your beliefs
in love I have never seen you 'bible bash'.

Scripture as recounted in the Bible is not open to intrepretation. What
God has placed amoung us is as he placed it. Those that read get from
it as they are filled by the spirit. Those that inturpret and stand as
though in the pulpit to lesson us have no idea of the absolutely
wonderful truths that are there in this book.

I have only recently begin reading it. From the moment I picked it up I
saw truths. Some of those truths have been quoted to me and I am amazed
at how twisted they were turned after the quote.

If you must quote it do so. Please do not tell me what it means that is
Gods place.

the ripest fruit is often at the top of the tree. We would build towers
to get to that delectible, perfect, taste tantilizing fruit.

Those who have not the means, are better nourished, for plucking the
less ripened fruit from the bottom. For they have taken what was made
available to them and left the best at the top, for those who have no
means of providing for themselves - the birds, the bees, the worms, the
human who has nothing better to do but build towers.

The ripest fruit.

Aye Red you have seen a lesson in Babel. And shown it to me. And in so
doing proven to me the truth for you have stated no beleif in God yet
saw this. This is the blessing of that book for those who quote it.
Even as you say we can not we see. There are so many lessons buried
there that man may take a life time and not see them all.

From my time growing apple trees I also know that the ripest fruit also
falls from the tree right at your feet when you least expect it.

Thank you red.

AB - I'm glad you saw something of value there. And you are correct,
there is a myrid of meaning within my words. I am rather hoping that
the "spirit" that makes people see, will give the right meaning for
them.

Sometimes the best interpretation, is one that is "self" oriented.

spider, the purpose of the forum is for everyone to voice their
opinions, i know why i believe whta i do about the bible, and i can use
scripture to back it up, just as you can use scripture to prove what you
believe, there are many analysis on the bible, and i don't hink you need
to make a thread saying that the non believers are trying to lure " new
" christians down in to hell like we're some type of demon tempting
people.. the forum is open ! for a reason it isn't here to say
christianity is right, its not here for me to say im right, it's here
for open discussion and if someone doesn't know why they are a christian
then in my opinion they aren't a christian, and if they find that hey
that's a good question and change faiths or choose to dow hatever than
that is there choice not yours really no one is here to change anothers
opinions.... bc i certainly haven't seen anyone here declare their going
from christian to atheist ..

sororitygurl4life,

Recently, AdventureBegins has been hard at work trying to prove that
"Grace is not yet complete", which places Christians under law. Anyone
who has a simple understanding of what Jesus taught knows that no one
can keep the law. How long would you remain in a religion that taught
that all people go to hell? Because quite simply, if you are under law,
you are not a vessel for mercy. If you aren't a vessel for mercy, you
are a vessel for wrath, which means death.

I guess you can't see what would be harmful about this teaching, but
Boredchick and I both offered cases where we were exposed to false
teachings, which in my case almost drove me from Christianity
completely.

I have to disagree with you, for most of the Bible, there is an accepted
and understood meaning to the scripture. There are some minor
differences in interpretation, but for the most part, all Christian
churches are the same. All Christian churches agree that we are under
Grace, but AdventureBegins presents his own brand of paganized
Christianity, which could dishearten or destroy the faith of anyone who
believes what he said.

I wrote this thread for the Christians, you will noticed that I
addressed the second part of my post to Christians specifically. I
can't do anything to stop anyone from using the Bible to teach their own
perverted version of Christianity, but I have every right to offer
guidance and advice to any Christians who use this forum.

Spider, this is an open forum, but up to now you have taken it upon
yourself to shout everybody down who has a different opinion to yours.
Do you not see what a picture YOU paint of Christianity?
The picture you paint is rigid, and in places it shows
bigotry and prejudice. You judge people from the pulpit you
have placed yourself on, people of whom you know nothing.
Is that what you want people to see?

invisible,

I haven't told anyone to stop posting. I have disagreed with their
interpretation of CHRISTIAN Holy Scriptures. I have also offered advice
to Christians. Perhaps if you pulled your fingers out of your ears and
stop saying "LA LA LA YOU ARE A BIGOT", you would see that I am not the
boogey man you want me to be.
