OMG I can't BE any clearer.

Well ultimately I gathered that even though your first statement said one thing you believed another.

You actually believe that because she showed no mercy, you have none for her. If you had said it that way in the beginning I could not have questioned the idea that those who show mercy will be shown mercy. But I will let it go, it's not that big a deal, just a curiosity for me.. waving

I DID say it. You just took it to mean whatever you wanted it to. In Scripture it says "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy". Most people don't have to ask a gazillion times what that means. It's pretty clear cut, as was I. What I believe is exactly what I said. This topic has worn me OUT when it never even needed to. waving

Come now Auburn girl thought ya had more stamina than that

Things are not as clear cut as you think sunshine, some people believe in scriptures, others ask because they don't know about the scriptures, others just may want clarification - nothing personal.

Am I not now blessed as I cannot show this woman the same mercy as you? tongue2

If I questioned it, that hardly means I have taken it to mean what I wish. I have no idea what most people would do or not do, that seems to be the point to asking. It's clear to me now that the saying means different things to different people. It's one reason why I don't take scripture very seriously. waving

To roll back the tape a bit, some are saying that Atkins isn't a threat to society because she can't walk and chew gum and her brain is in her lap or something. Let her out and other prisoners are going to have their arms & legs amputated so they can be released and go home and play on the computer, deal drugs, order murders, etc. A stretch? I don't think so.

Hmmm, I don't think I would necessarily go THAT far, although I suppose the possibility might exist in some cases.

As is the case with this issue, as well as other cases I have posted on, you will excuse me if I'm rather pragmatic about it.

Shes already had her mercy when she escaped the death sentence . but our laws say equal justice under the law . the sentences these people did not get equal justice .. Or all the killers in our country would have the same sentence . THEY DON,T . The only thing different is how wealthy the victim's were .. I don,t care what the sentence is as long as it equal for every one .. I may not be rich but the people who love me would miss me as much as a rich persons family would . who are these people who are in the government that can,t follow our laws . judges who write new law congresspeople who take our money but can,t seam to pass laws that anyone gives a crap about . and last but not least the enforcement branch which only enforces what they feel like or lately write there own rules . THIS IS NOT WHAT THE FOUNDERS MADE UP ,NOT WHAT MADE THIS COUNTRY GREAT .. EQUAILTY NOW AND FOR EVER .. NO MORE SPICIAL PEOPLE .. ONE COUNTRY FOR ALL OF US . AND NO MERCY FOR CRIMINALS IF THE SENTENCES ARE LEGAL ....LETS TRY TO GET THIS CRIME HOLE BACK FOR THE FUTURE OF OR FAMILYS

In the late 80's I was in EMT school the story was if an individual had three or more Tats, the odds were the had done time in a prison.
Times have changed.

I'm sure in the 80's I had 1 maybe 2 max - but kept adding as time went by. Even with these (which are not visible) I got the evil eye from people. And yes I have been to jail but on a visit ()

Oh, Gawd! Now the tattoo people are up in arms. No, people with tattoos are NOT more likely to be be criminals or icky. I was saying that people in prison are apt to have a tattoo done on their EYELIDS meaning their world, their feelings, their outlook is somewhat different from those who are not in prison or from peoople who would not get a tattoo to begin with.
You know, I'm sure, what I was getting at. But, my apology to all the people who have been so brave as to go out and get tattoos. Now, let's keep the focus on this woman who killed people and earned her place in prison and is damn lucky we didn't fry her years ago.

I am glad the death penalty is not used, it doesn't work to do anything for the families who lost a loved one anyway unless the family lives by vengence which is supposed to be gods thing right?

As for the OP, no matter where she dies it is going to cost the state of California.

She is not capable of murdering anyone so there is no danger in letting her out.

To me whatever the state of California decides will be okay with me.

I agree as long as it doesn't include the death penalty.

I got my first tatoo at 38. Don't ask, I don't know why, went with a friend that was getting one and found one that I wouldn't mind having and just did it. Never regretted it. I got one more after that and have not had the urge since.

This one is on my forearm, it's a colorful snake wrapped around a crecent moon. The other on my upper arm is a small rose.

I would never get them on my face but I have seen people that have gotten several on their face and neck.

do you really think that 4o years in a prison is better than the death sentence . its just way more expense on the tax payer . i would say that we could give them the choice . we are broke now we can,t keep spending money trieing to save human wrecks . but to stay on subject the sentence is to long because nobody else but these girls . the writeing on the walls may be tacky but its only vandelisom . 1 year at the most .. i don,t care how much any one gets as long as its the same for everyone .hang them as far as i,m concerned but hang all of them equailly ..

No kidding! I saw a documentary or news type program that told about the extremes prisoners go to in order to make something similar to booze. I can't remember all the ingredients but it was pretty gross.
