Topic: China - The new world leader?

I had a brief discussion, this morning, about China's current place in
the world arena.

I stated that I believe that China will become the next world leader. I
also reckon that it wont be in my lifetime, but it will happen.

I based this on a few things.

I keep one eye on the S.E. Asia/Japanese area. In December of last year
the US/Japanese naval forces played some war games in the southern
Japanese seas.

This war games' scenario was "A Chinese Invasion"

Japan denied this drill was about an invasion.

Second thing is an escalating issue between the Chinese and the
Taiwanese.

Taiwan plays a critical role in the security of East Asia and indeed the
world. The current impasse between Taiwan and China is the issue most
likely to bring two mature nuclear powers into conflict and cause them
to contemplate or threaten the use of nuclear weapons.

As the confrontation becomes more intense it is mandatory that we
examine and understand several aspects of the problem before we apply
policy measures.

Thirdly and most importantly, the Chinese have cottoned on to the idea
that purchasing the "enemy" is better than battling with them

10% purchase of a large US private equity company (Blackstone) gives
them a very good grip of a purchasing agent in the US.

The 1996 United States campaign finance scandal refers to possible
efforts by the People's Republic of China to change United States
politics before and during the Clinton Administration as well as the
fund-raising activities of President Clinton and the U.S. Democratic
Party.

Questions about the Democratic Party's fund-raising activities began in
October 1996. The people first learned about China's role in the scandal
after the Washington Post newspaper wrote a story that said a U.S.
Department of Justice investigation found evidence that spies for China
tried to give Asian money to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in
1996.[1] It is a crime in the U.S. for people in other countries to give
money to U.S. politicians.

Seventeen people were arrested later by the police and convicted by the
courts. Some of the people arrested were friends of President Clinton
and Vice President Al Gore.

That sort of gave the US a few wobblies about Chinese investment.

But now they dont have much choice in the matter now.

I believe you're right. Somewhere recently i heard that if they chose
to, the Chinese Government could form a military troop number of 200
million!! 2 thirds of the entire U.S. population. For Karizman..Sex
isn't love and it's amazing they are so over populated. They are under
strict scrutiny from the Government to use contraception (forced)But the
most amazing thing is,Mao Tsi Dung (former leader) is responsible for
killing 70 million of his own people. In current afairs there, Where it
is a communist Government, Christianity is illegal, but praise God it is
thriving. Right now if you carry the bible and are caught,or worshipping
God you go to prison. Not for 30 days but a year or more and are fined
up to 1 and a half times your yearly salary.
