Several of the ladies in the Secret Pals were describing the perfect house for them...so I thought whta a great idea to have a thread about it.


so describe what your perfect house would be like..........

For me I would love to rebuild my grandparents 2nd home.....it was a farm house set on top of the hill, large yard with several trees and rose bushes through out the yard

The house its self has a wrap around porch. As you come up the stairs to the porch and enter the front door, there is a foyer where you can put you coats, hats, boots etc, along the walls of the foyer there are photos of family ancestors. To the left is the stairs to go to the second level.

To the right is the large kitchen and to the left is the living room. Lets enter the LIVING ROOM......

AS you enter you first notice that 2 walls have windows from corner to corner (I like a lot of natural light), there is a built in bookcase covering the 3rd wall, with all the books that I have read or intend to read someday There isn't really a 4th wall as a room divider there is on each side of the door way built in Knick knack shelves that are open to each room.

Go through the door way to the DINING ROOM.......

In the center of the room is a beautiful tapestry rug sitting under the Cherry wood pedastal table and chairs. On the 1 wall is a matching cherry china buffet, the other 2 walls have window seats. On the end of the wall next to the buffet is the doorway to the kitchen.

Now the kitchen.....

Just inside the doorway on the right from the foyer is the stove, next to it is a large prep table perfect for all the baking I do. On the opposite side of the room is windows and in between the windows are baking racks (great place to cool pies and cookies). On the left is the door way to the basement. On the other end of the room to the right is a doorway to the pantry and straight is the door way to the living room.

Next is the Pantry.....

as you enter the pantry to the right is nothing but cabinets and cupboards for food storage. Straight ahead is a window on that wall, to the left is more cabinets and a 3 basin porcelain sink.

The second level of the house.....

Go up the stair at the top is the bathroom, just your normal bathroom.....Tub with shower, sink and toilet, a built in magazine rack.

Down the hall to the bedrooms......

There are 2 bedrooms and a master bedroom....the 2 bedrooms are normal with a bed, dresser and night stands. Each room has a closet of course and a small recliner.

The master bedroom has the same except the closet is a walk in and it has its own bathroom......a spa tub with jets, a stand in only shower, double sink and toilet of course. There are french doors opposite the bathroom that open out to the balcony that over looks the entire hill, where sunsets and sunrises can be seen and enjoyed.

Well my dream house would have to be out in the middle of nowhere.Nice sized farm where i could grow my own food and have my own animals.The size of the house .... nothing too big but at least 3 bedrooms.Nice big kitchen with lots of counter space.A living room and rec room for the kids and the absolute ONE thing i would die for in my dream house would be..... a homeschooling room.Yes if i could just have a homeschool room my life would be complete

Can you get NY pizza and bagels on this island?

Well, let's see. It's one living level with a finished den/media room below. Had a living room/family room, eat in kitchen, big kitchen, walk out to a huge deck, (great for grilling and entertaining), HUGE master bedroom, with it's own walkout to that deck. Large walk in closet in master, onsuite bath, 3 other bedrooms and hall bath...down stairs is a projector style tv, Large media room with surround, and another walkout to a patio under the deck. Nice fire place in this finished den. Yep yep, that would be it.

I know just the place! Right here in town, and it's for sale!

I promise. Well have bagels and lox and cream cheese flown in from Brooklyn every Sunday
With the Sunday paper and our personal hygeine products!!

the rest i can work around

Awwwwwwwww mine would be a 2 story Log Cabin nestled in the woods with a stream that runs behind it. Would have a wrap around front porch as well as a big deck on the back. That steps lead you down to a big gazebo that has a Hot Tub. Inside it would have a huge master bedroom with 2 extra bedrooms office, big open living room & a Kitchen combination dinning room. Myself I see no use for a formal living room & Dinning rooms. Now can't forget the fireplaces not only in the living room but the master bedroom as well.

I love this island. I want to move there today. Do we want access to the internet?

A roof, a toilet, a shower, a bed a TV a microwave, what more do we need.

Walls and floors?

Walls? Toilet paper? Well tp is a want, but a BIG WANT!

Oh hell no! I'm not staying inside. I say forget the internet. All the minglers we wish to find us will know how.

Yea we'll have an annual "ho-down" !!!!

My dream house would be on a lot of land and it would have 3 bedrooms 1 of the bedrooms would be an office, 2 bathroom a nice tv room with a fire place. And for the outside I would have kennels and habitats for animals that are no longer wanted. The Kennels would be for domesticated animals and the habitats would be for wildlife who could not fend for themselves in the wild due to trying to domesticate them. That is my dream house.

The details are sketchy at this time, but suffice to say it's got windows overlooking the "deer and elk superhighway" that cuts through the land and will be off the grid. Guests will be welcome!
