Topic: FEAST OF SPRING | |
---|---|
I need a break and I haven't had a bar-b-que since last summer.
Can we have a religious feast in an fun outdoor setting? EVERYONE IS INVITED. Small talk only please. Let's start with what we should bring, edible, to this feast. We can all even attempt to make it kosher for those who wish it. One rule,"respect please". Any who would like a prayer before eating, will say it and we will all listen repectfully. Christian, Jewish, pagan, cult, atheist, each to thier own. A community of blessings. Foods first - we'll get a menu plan. I have an open pit, a huge grill and a yard full of empty tables waiting. I have created a very special recipe - 'deviled eggs'. not only yummy, but also seems a fitting donation for an atheist. |

I'll bring chicken nachos.

Here I brought a vegetable dip and a huge bowel of uncooked califlower.
And some roses to brighten the table! |

Sweet potatoe pie for afters....
Maybe a greek salad, with rocket and baby spinach, sun dried tomatoes, plump kalamata olives, fetta cheese, artichoke hearts and a nice balsamic dressing.. Do you mind if I make some chickpea burgers? I can cook them in a pan, away from the meat, if people prefer.. Roses, how lovely, may I add some daisies? |

Hey this is getting good. Is anyone opposed to roasting a pig? I don't
want to disgust anyone, or worse not have someone show up because I'm cooking a, well, unclean animal? Does anyone have a really good sweet bar-b-que sauce? Pulled pork alongside those burgers. Noachos, and OMG (oh sorry!) Jess that salad sounds wonderful. |

Red, it's fine...my children choose to eat meat, like most people do,
and I am the cook most times, I choose not to eat meat. |

I posted an open invitataion to all, under the General Discussion
heading. Let's play nice with all the neighbors, maybe we could talk somone into making a terrific 'spiked' punch or rum drink. Rum is a pretty big topic "up there". For those who don't induldge - we'll have someone make a soft punch. |

Red just bury it with pineapples in a fire pit.
taste right nice when its done. |

diet pepsi for those of us who don't imbibe alcohol. uhm AB whats a caber?? If it involves throwing everyone may want to duck, I am a bit of a klutz and well its most likely to hit someone or myself..... |

Its kinda a male thing.
You wear your clan tabbard and kilt. (and yes I were it in tradition). You toss a 17 foot long log as far as you can throw it. Since this is a virtual feast I reckon you should have no promblem. |
|
|
|
Ok let me rustle up a kilt and well I haven't got a clan so I'll just
wear me turquoise |

Sounds like a party, did you bring your guitar?
Can one come to a religious feast without a religion? I am not part of any group, religion, or organization, I claim no title beyond that of my name, or stations I have held [daughter, sister, wife, mother...], nor do I adhere to any specific doctrine. Instead I follow definitions and the effects of causes. Personaly I only know my own experience, and I only eat organic food. You would be amazed by how many people find the fact of it offensive, but I feel welcome here. And to any who might be concerned, I will not shove my food down your throat if you do not shove your food down mine, but if you do, it had better be organic. Any body like to play cards? |

Bithiyah, a lot of us are not part of any group.
