Just had a tech support call from a customer. it went like this.... Me: Tech support Brian speaking may I help you? Them: Yes I can't find the program to open. Me: Have you looked on your desktop for the ICON with the name of the software under it? Them: Well the only thing on my desktop is my mouse and keyboard, oh and a pen. ROFL!!!!

You're in tech support and you're surprised by that? I hear stories like that all the time from my friends who work on help desks.

the person you spoke with was obviously stupid,by the same token i have called tech support for my low-tech webtv and have felt like i was being talked down to. not all of us are 'techies'. we prefer humans over machines. we pray for the day when it all crashes. maybe then our humanity will return. be seeing you

If that's the case, not knowing anything about a computer doesn't make them stupid.

God, that was a long time ago! See, I'm one of those techies. I taught 5th - 12th grade tech. I LOVE books, and would rather have a library of actual paper books than a palm pilot, yeah, but technology has its place.
