Every scar has a story. What's yours?

Well Bob, I'm glad you asked. Those three small fairly mild scars on my left palm is from the time.. it was the early 80's I believe.. I was mixing some experimental gunpowder that proved to be unstable. It blewed me up.

My arms are very scared from an undiagnosed condition that occurred while caring for my late husband. I think it is due to very rapid weight loss....I hate them, the scars.

Well Bob, I'm glad you asked.

Honestly, if we discussed all of my scars we would be here, for a very long time.

I guess my favorite one, is on my right ring finger..actually my first scar, and it's there to remind me of how lucky i am. The first joint of that finger was reattached in 1965, which comes in handy, seeing as how i'm a guitar player.

hmmm... interesting. Sounds like more of a skin condition than classic scarring. I don't mean to minimize the issue but we should be concerning ourselves with more traumatic acute scarring. By-the-by, your arm looks great in the pic. waving

i had 12 stitches put into my upper lip because i ran into a pole when i was in 2nd grade and then again 3 years ago when i bailed hard on my snowboard in new york (i was mad wasted and we were off the trails) so i have a ton of scar tissue in my upper lip which is why my upper lip is kinda permanently swollen. but thats ok because people pay mad cash to get lip injections and stuff, when i got mine for free bigsmile

Then there's the time after the Blue Oyster Cult concert. I had been with my platonic g/f and her friends and came back late and didn't wanna wake up my live-in g/f. Started lifting a window and suddenly it got real light... because the window above it had passed the stupid bent nail that was holding it in so it crashed upon me head. A few stichies in the shoulder is all but lotsa sharp shards about the neck. A close one fer sure.

The ones I would like to have explained are the third degree burns I recieved as a toddler and a ward of the state. The others I know about.

I have the 1977 version of that scar.

I also have a scar on the back of a knee from a Baker's cyst removal when I was five.

hmmm.. I'm sure you "caregivers" would rather that stay unexplained. Ouch.

Thanks, they don't show in my pics. They were indeed traumatic, lots of bleeding. Didn't wear a short sleeved shirt for two or more years, always had bandages on...

I have a scar on my left knee from walking, well falling down on my way home from a bar, bled like all hell! Also one on my right knee from my very first attempt at shaving, filled the tub with blood with that on. At least now my knees match! LOL
