I have stretch mark scars on my tummy from my son.. Ive never had a problem with them. It may sound wierd, but Ive always felt so blessed to have them.. Its just such a small price to pay.

My son loves my tummy, and sometimes walks up, and kisses it, cos he was in there, and says he loves it, and rubs it.

you were in a very disturbing episode of sesame street and it caused some of the cast severe emotional trauma. it's why elmo refers to himself in the 3rd person and developed a masochistic need to be tickled so relentlessy that it hurts. the letter x is now banned from the show.

Every scar has a story. What's yours?

I've got a rather sizable scar running between my left middle and ring fingers. I've had the scar for practically all of my life.

I was born with something called "stendactyly", which roughly translated means "webbed fingers". Oddly enough, only two of my ten fingers are affected (the left middle and ring fingers, as I stated), and the webbing was severe enough to essentially not permit the two affected digits to move independently.

So -once I ended up being old enough, which was about when I was two or three- my parents decided to take me in to get operated on. Not only did the doctors separate my two bum fingers, but they took an eight-inch long strip of skin off of the inside of my right thigh to graft unto my digits.

The result? While I AM able to move my fingers independently for the most part (both fingers are still unnaturally bent when compared to my other fingers- they kind of resemble smallish front two legs on a spider), the scar left by the operation remains, as does the one from the skin graft on my leg. I've had several doctors tell me that they'll eventually fade out, but I've seen no such thing happening in the thirty-plus years since the operation.

I also got a couple other real beauty scars on other parts of my body, as well. But NOT from that surgery I described of above.

The ones I would like to have explained are the third degree burns I recieved as a toddler and a ward of the state. The others I know about.

hmmm.. I'm sure you "caregivers" would rather that stay unexplained. Ouch.

I guess what "they" want is always what counts. Kid can't catch a break. Seems like it is getting worse for kids instead of better.

I've tried that. All it did was make my scars look glossy.

In fact, I've tried everything short of steel wool or fine-grit sandpaper for those scars. There's probably some crazy keloid scar action goin' on down there.

Moped + Skateboard = Kissing asphalt That caused a 2 inch scar on my chin along with a small one on the bridge of my nose and inside my bottom lip. The on the chin took 203 stitches by a plastic surgeon. The way I landed ended up filleting my chin from the bone. They had to run a row of internal stitches that dissolved, then another row to close the wound.

Top of my left index finger about at the knuckle was nearly cut off by a psycho stalker ex. Fun times... not. ohwell

A couple of scars on my fore arm from being attacked by a rabid raccoon. noway

Slice scar on my left thumb knuckle from a rock when I rolled a Jeep on a trail ride. shocked

Faint scar on my knee from running into a water spigot on my way to the "potty spot" while camping in Kentucky. Funny thing about it is that my ex was just saying "Watch out for the...." as I hit it and started cussing a blue streak. grumble

Most recent from a golf cart accident. Don't let your girlfriend decide to go careening down a steep hill as fast as she can thinking she will fishtail the cart at the end. Crushed all the tendons in my ankle so they had to be shortened and a trough put in my ankle bone. Painful to say the least but you can barely see the scar anymore.

Necessary-C section scar. It appears shorter over the years and far less noticeable...or does it appear shorter because I might be wider?

Cut my thumb after opening a cat food can down to the bone after running my thumb around the cut top. Back in the day where mom took you to the doctor's office and her and the nurse held me down while he put about 16 stitches in it-nothing to numb it. I was in first grade and it was great for show and tell because the stitches were all with black thread and very noticeable.

Other than that, a small scar on the top of my right foot as I was mad and went around the house and ran into a metal pipe. I was in high school laying out in my black bikini and was told that it wasn't appropriate and that I was drawing attention to myself. I thought-wasn't that the point? Did I mention we lived right next to a small lakeside grocery store?

Well, I have a scar on my upper lip, though it really just looks like a small lump. That's from the days before seat belt use was mandatory, I was about 4 or 5 when it happened.

Then there's the scar on my knee from when I wiped out on my bike in gravel. My mom spent an hour with q-tips and peroxide digging out road rash. Hurt more than the actual fall did.

Then, my favorite scar of all, my c-section scar, I love that one bigsmile bigsmile

And while I did have a major accident last week and messed up my knee pretty good, I don't think I'll have any scarring from that

It's hard to say. Where I was shot in the ankle is hard to see now- almost 30 years later..

The 300+ stitches I had in my skull (due to sister tossing me down wooden steps when I was 4) are only visible when I shave my head.

I had a buddie's Great Dane chomp down on my arm about 7 years ago. He just missed three different tattoos by a hair's width.

Both of my big toes were broken (although not scarred), and they both ended up being off kilter about 10 degrees or so.

my left boob.... the last time I was at the gynecologist- he
thought it was chocolate or a spot of dirt and tried to rub it off-
I don't know who was more embarassed- me or him!blushing

My chin got busted open a long time ago. I was doing a jump kick to the punching bag hanging in the driveway. I actually pulled it off quite well, but there was a slick spot right under the bag and my foot went out from under me. It was funny, because the guy that stitched me up used to be a Tae Kwon Do instructor.

Got one on my left pinky and ring finger from pulled a knife out of a sheath when I was little kid.

last year, i was driving on a back road at 55 mph, slid off the road and hit two trees. i wasnt wearing a seat belt, the car made two complete 360's while i was ejected out of the driverside window 37 feet. the door scalped my head back revealing everything you can imagine. i had 137 staples and stitches in my head, broke my c7 in my neck but no brain trauma, i have a wicked lightning bolt scar from almost ear to ear. still cant feel the tip of my tounge.

OMG!

so i have a skin discoloring on my right knee the size of the bottom of a pop can.

I don't know if you've noticed but i'm a chubscout. and my little sister is the sporty spice of the family. so she decided one day after work that we were goin hiking. I figured, sure why not!? might just help me right...

yeah.

so we *IN THE DARK!* made it up the mountain and back down the mountain. and as we are walkin the trail back to the car I suggest that we jog the rest of the way...

so we start.

the road is just black pavement that curves down into dirt at the edges. my foot rolls from under me, tripping at the edge and i basically tuck and roll.

i fell off the pavement not 100 feet from the car.

and my knee looked like zombie style open wound grossness with blood gushing and me whimpering and my sister trying not to laugh.

good times.

my stab-wound scars are pretty nice. one on the bicep, one in the leg. i don't even know how many scars i have total. sports, fights, working on my vehicles...they all leave their marks.

i had a piece of pencil lead in my thigh for about 15 years from my sister stabbing me with a pencil accidentally (she was running with it in the hall. but hey, at least she got me instead of tripping and putting her eye out. happy
