Of course you can go on and discuss it in depth, but in reality there are no rules to these things. People can choose to do what they want to. So that short answer is really all it needs. You should love and build on what you have with the one you're with. If you think you are settling, and could "find someone better", then that isn't fair to yourself or the one you're with.
