What's the make and model of the washing machine in question? You might be able to find info online about how to get it back and running. That'd probably be your best bet, as there'd probably be some way to reset it and get it back running. It was the outlet. LOL Never thought of it until I tried plugging in the washer into both outlets. The breaker box was just staring at me the whole time too. But thank you for helping me, both of you!

does anyone know what it means when a cat lets out a series of really quiet barking like mews and appears to be stalking something?

is it a boy cat? could be smelling a girl cat in heat or if a girl maybe calling boys to mate.. unless there's a mouse or something in the house that it's after...

it was stalking a firefly. He's a boy. And snipped, as are the female cats in the house. They coexist like he is the king and they are just his lowly sisters.
