UGH... WWE trash should stay where they are. That big dumb lop Lesnar is making a mockery of the UFC with his horrible attitude. But all Dana White sees is $$$. Look beyond your own personal biases towards WWE. I myself have no love for WWE (and therefore won't defend them), however, Lesnar is an athlete with a legitimate athletic background and very real wrestling skills. WWE, and his association with WWE have nothing to do with anything. It wouldn't matter if Lesnar previously worked in a baggy clown costume in the circus. The guy is a legitimate champion. You even have other legit athletes who know a heck of a lot more about MMA and UFC than either you or I praising his legit skills. I'm talking about Randy Couture, who thinks Lesnar might have what it takes to give Fedor a run for his money. |

Everyone criticizes Lesnar for being disrespectful, but who was that fighter that wore a lucha libre mask prior to his match with Lesnar (and subsequently swallowed his own teeth in under a minute)?
Also, people have to remember that mixed martial arts is a bottom line conscious industry. And the bottom line is money. |

A reprehensible mistake for me to make, given how familiar I am with both Lesnar and Lashley. And especially given the fact that I posted an opinion on the Lashley fight several weeks ago. |

i really dont understand why everyone is calling him a circus freak? just because hes a bit bigger than most? he coul dof never trained and never tried to get in shape at all. but because he took the time to make sure he was in amazing shape for his size, which is rare everyoen calls him a circus freak. as compared to most people his height and weight, you should be happy for him that he didnt just sit around to be a lumbering around, non athletic guy doing nothing with his life.
the trash talking i would agree that the last part was a lil something that could of stay in the head not outloud. but the rest of it. mir talked smack about him forever, so it was perfectly fine he talked some back. and really who cares if he came from the wwe or anywhere else. that doesnt make him a worse fighter. the lady up there says shes just a true fan of mma and not so much just the ufc. but where this all based off of. was anyone who could rumble getting in a cage with each other. it was underground unknown to guys hammering it out. you didnt have to know any submissions if you were good enough of knocking the other guys teeth in. and honestly besides submessions the best thing in mma to be excelent at..WRESTLING some of the best champions of champions were extreamly amazing wrestlers. you can control your opponent and never seem to be out of place. and yeah he was in wwe. but after wrestling college he took a while and he found something where some of those skillz could be used and it made him lots of money. he's not a freak, hes an athlete and hes proven he can compete at the high level. just cause hes not mr.goody goody doesnt men you h ave to give him some ******** sterotype. christ. lay off a little as for stone cold. if he were younger and in shape without the hurt neck..just cause he has no mma backround doesnt mean he would never make it, he is a good fighter. thats how he grew up, im not saying he would ever be a champ or something. but he would fair slightly better than most of you gave him credit for. granted chuck liddel had kickboxing and all. but most of his fights he won by simply being an amazing fighter. not mma artist. he got better and better at it as he went. but his very early fights if anyone of you even followed him then which i doubt. he relied solely on his hands. and knocked people out in a very sick fasion thats how he got known not cause he could control a ground game with mma skillz..because he could bust peoples faces up, because he grew up fighting. you dont need seriously good mma skillz to be a champ in mma competition. you just need to know how to fight. whatever backround or practice it was you got. you may not be the best of the best forever, or ever. but you will have a degree of success |

I respect what you're saying, but Akebono was a fighter (of the sumo discipline) who enjoyed a significant weight advantage over pretty much everyone, yet he was schooled by Royce Gracie, an aging fighter no less. Size is nothing, size means little when you're trapped on the mat with no knowledge of how to escape your predicament. |

Size is nothing, size means little when you're trapped on the mat with no knowledge of how to escape your predicament. yes but we are not talking sumo. where you can use speed and agility to just either get your opponent down or out of the ring..the best you can get is push him against the cage. i also respect what your saying..but this would be cage fighting..and note i did say he prolly would still lose. and by submission. but if he could use his size in the right way. he would have a chance for a shocker finish. catching him with the right punch and so forth. i dont think it would happen, much more great things have happened. size advantage unless its a lumbering d-bag and a smaller stacked amazing fighter. would always even out the bout to a point, and no one could say it wouldnt. if the bigger guy is a game fighter but not top of the line. he can use his size to possibly pull out what people dont think. it the order of stond cold and anderson silva? i dont think quite that much although the chance for a crazy bomb throw by him and catch silva isnt completely out of the question. just very unlikely. i agree with what you said. i and have seen that matchup more than once, but those two sports are like saying someone that has played need for speed all his life, could jump in a car and go 200+ mph andnot get hurt. or the traditional..apples to oranges. |
