Topic: Meeting at grocery stores... | |

Do you know anyone who has actually met someone to date at a grocery store? Does that ever really happen? People seem to suggest it an awful lot, but I've never, ever known anyone to actually meet someone that way.

Nope. Never met anyone in a supermarket, especially anyone I would consider dating.
That crap sounds more like an old wives' tale to me. |

Yeah, I've never run into anyone at a grocery store that I'd think about asking out.

I've tried picking up women in the supermarket before
but security always winds up escorting me from the premises |

It happens more at Lowes or Home Depot People are always suggesting grocery stores. Those aren't grocery stores. Though, I wouldn't go there expecting to meet people either. |

I actually dated a guy for about a year that I met in Walmart a few years ago. After a year I realized he wasn't such a bargain after all...

What an interesting question, because I never thought of talking to someone at a grocery store, but people do in the movies and television. Don't most people meet in college classes or through mutual friends?

I actually dated a guy that I met at the grocery, and am still good friends with him. We seemed to be going to get groceries at the same time on a regular basis. We even joking "fought" over apples one day. After seeing each other there, we'd joke and say I'll see you next time for "our date".
One afternoon I peeked in his buggy & asked what the specific ingredients were for and he told me some dish he was making. I said it sounded good and would he give me the recipe. He asked me if I'd be interested in coming over to try it for myself. I did and we off and on dated for a little while. The chemistry wasn't there, but we are still friends and still see each other at the grocery and get together for dinner from time to time. It does happen, you just have to be open to it. Then again, I'm the kind of person who can talk to anyone. |

It seems to be a standard answer but i do believe it's true that you can meet a potential date anywhere, it would have to be random ofcourse, i'm not sure if there is a singles night in the frozen food dept.
