I was thinking about the OP, and her desire to find a police officer for a date/boyfriend/husband...

With all due respect to her reasons....it feels a little like the fairytale thing....Prince Charming type set up..

A dashing hero type, a protector/dragonslayer...in his shiny (body) armour, with his weapons...who takes care of all those who can't take care of themselves....a family man, just awaiting his little princess.

It does seem to parallel the fairy tale version of Prince Charming, and nothing wrong with wanting that....

Perhaps, OP, you could start your Psychology PHD now....PTSD, alcoholism, drug dependency and spousal abuse, is rife in law enforcement marriages.

Not all....but many.

I've been taking care of myself for quite sometime..I have good financial stability, I love my job, I know how to cook/shop (finding sales in everything!), love puppies and kittens..I just am super attracted to that oozing self-confidence of a cop! AND, everything else I've already discussed! :) No harm in that!

I'm not criticising you.

it was merely an observation....

Yes but I believe, at least the way I read it, that what rose is saying is because of the danger, could you live like that? I could certainly see how difficult it could be to date or be married to a cop/fireman.

you read that correctly. Most of the spouses/relationships are more concerned with them coming home safely. when they are home..they can be proud, but at work...most worry about them

if u have yahoo messenger, go to the top once u have logged in. double click messenger, go down list, click on join chat, then click on cultures and communities from there click on crime and then choose police and fire chatroom. lot's of LE,FF,RN'S and those types of professions. I wore a uniform for 4 years having served in the Navy during the Persian Gulf War. The uniform and gear are nice, but some people tend to forget that underneath it all we're only human like every body else.

all I know is cops think there above the law,so it gives them the right to break it.

I donno...my sister recently started dating a cop...at first I was hesitant...Me, My sis and my brother get our 420 on. But, Not only is he cool with it...Recently he did exactly the "knight in shing armor" thing for my sis and her ugly baby. Busted some a-hole who was trying to break in at 2am with gloves, a knife and a rap sheet as long as my arm. So he got major brownie points with me.

If a law dog is what you want...no reason you can't have one.

Hmmm..my opinion is that law enforcement men are the most honorable men out there..I SO wish there were some single ones out there to flirt with!! :) Any suggestions?! :)

Some are some aren't. There are some cops who became cops because they want to help society, there are others who were the bully type in highschool and continue to be bullies.

dont forget the thrill seekers

Take it from me(was married to one) they're not all honorable...

Okay, okay! I've gotten the hint that they're not ALL honorable! I really shouldn't be that picky..I mean, heck, I haven't had a date in a while! Beggars DEFINITELY can't be choosers! :)
