Topic: Why Are Woman Always Asking | |
---|---|
As to the original question about he lady that wanted to be complimented all evening- My advice is run the other way. She is going to be a high maintenance kinda woman. She is always going to want more than you can ever give. She is hiding really low self-esteem and you will never be able to boost it high enough for her to feel OK about herself.
As to the later question about why women think about the future early in a relationship- we are just wired that way. Warning- sweeping generalizations ahead--- Men are trying to figure out how much work it is to get a woman into bed and women are trying to figure out if this guy has the potential to become permanent in her life. It is our basic nature. Part of the reason that dating is so hard- we go at cross purposes much of the time. |

Sounds like low self esteem OR, she just really wanted to be pleasing to you so wanted to know if you thought she looked nice. Perhaps YOU try offering it more and see if maybe they don't have to ask so much.
Sorry, I missed if this is after just the one date. I think it would be a bit early to tell if you need to run the other way, etc. She really might have been trying to find the style you like, hoping she looked nice for you. Doesn't hurt to give it another shot and see if YOU give the compliment initially when you see her, and then again say , after you order dinner, if that doesn't stop it. |

Rule #1 to keep in mind when talking to a woman. Keep veering the conversation towards her, a fair amount of the women you talk to enjoy talking about themselves. Not to say that they are self absorbed, its just a easy topic to relate to. Listening to her will give you some helpful tips to store away for later.
Ladies, am I off base here? TM |

TM Oh you're definitely on there. We all have a story and we all like to talk about it at least some of it. The art of good conversation is to be a good Listener! BUT, not to the point that she has to ask, do I look alright, etc. There must be a reason or a vibe she is getting that perhaps the date wasn't going so well, so *I* think she was trying to gauge it. Just a vibe I'm getting |

TM Actually, I like to see that a guy can come up with something else to talk about, rather than thinking I'm just going to want to talk about myself. Of course, both of us will talk about ourselves a bit, but don't assume that ladies are going to want to talk about themselves most of the time. |

Why do all women always say that it's not all women Cause it's true. I get uncomfortable around compliments, and change the subject to something else. I'll thank the person, as it's the polite thing to do but I'd rather the subject drop. |

I agree with you E.D. I am also uncomfortable with compliments. I always have had a hard time seeing them I guess although they are appreciated. Generally, isn't a compliment of "you look really nice tonight" one of the first things a date says? I don't know...it's been a while!
