Yay!!! It's Prncs!!!
So whazzup! Saving the world from miscreants and ne'er do wells, Prncs? |

|
Yeah. If there's anything worse than being bored at work, it's having too much to do at work! Actually, I shouldn't complain. It's better than all my work being shipped off to India. |

One person on my team in India invited me to her engagement ceremony. I think that would be pretty cool to see... but it's kind of far away.

|
|
Yeah. That might be quite the engagement ceremony.

I have a few Indian friends, they're cool... Also, have an office in India and they are a pain in my azz... It's a very entitled culture...

They don't want to pay for anything, they want the company to pay for everything.. If it costs they usually won't buy it but if it's free they're the first in line... They are used to cleaning women, cooks, laundry ladies, tea people, errand boys, etc... I have worked with well over 100 at one time and 98% of them are this way...

We keep hiring more and more b/c it's so cheap there compared to here.. To run a 100+ person office there is less than just our payroll here for 30 people. The quality is not there though and redoing things makes the price go up but the owners don't see that b/c the $$ each month is so much lower..

That'd pretty much be an "entitlement society" all right. If anything, that might make for quite a rude awakening for the corporate world down the road, especially with all the money they'll supposedly "save" by out-sourcing work there. |

But, management doesn't care because it costs less. Though, the turnover rate has been high, so we've been constantly retraining. |

OMG us too.. Our turnover rate in the US is almost 0, in India it's over 60%

Yeah. The major studios here actually tried to out-source all the below-the-line labor to India as well a number of years ago. Apparently, they weren't satisfied with the tax incentives (up to 40%) the Canadians were doling out at the time and tried to cut their bottom line even further.
So they tried opening up some studios out by Mumbai way, and quickly found that they were quickly swimming up hill with the talent pool out there. This was especially true with the special effects department out there- they had nowhere near the expertise as those out here in L.A. It was a seriously-bad accident waiting to happen. As it was, they ended up heading off to New Zealand/Australia instead. |
