I can say most whole heartedly, no the founders would not be proud of this nation that keeps adding power to the federal government, and keeps giving up liberties for "security". The principles which they fought and died for are eroded everyday by the people that are in power over this nation. The fact that we have a central banking system would have been enough to make them take arms. "Banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." ~Thomas Jefferson.

Only 55 billion has been spent out of the 700 plus billion allowed for the stimulus plan and many banks are returning the money.Many more companies are refusing to take it.The reason they are doing this is because they realize it is not a loan but a take over of their company.Many companies have lost all control over their company because it now belongs to the US government.Ford was very smart to not take any money.They have complete control over their company unlike GM.

GM=Government motors.

But yet they allowed it from their time on.

Also we are a capitalist society so what does that mean? The rich control it, there is no way around that.


Idealism is great but when it is transferred to practicality and usability sometimes it seems to lose it's power.

Example of this is Obama, he has high ideals for this country and now in the "putting it to use" stage he is discovering the difficulties he faces at this level.

Obama will do well and he will help with his time in office but he will not be able to accomplish all he sees for this country.

The founding fathers had high ideals also and we have seen what happens to those ideals in usage, they are not always what they seem on paper.

I believe the founding fathers of this country to be proud of us. We are not what they ran from in their countries and we are still following their guidelines.

No base constructs stay the same with all the change on this planet and none ever will. We have to expect changes because people change.

We survived the Great Depression. We'll survive this too.

I think you have me out debated. Not because I agree with any of that, just because I don't really want to waste the time. I'm done trying to show people what's happening in this country. People might change, but ideals should stay the same. Good, throughout history, has always been the same trait. Evil is the same way. The Constitution is based upon the simple concepts of personal liberties, which are established by a good creator/God. The reason for the second amendment, for example, was to protect the people from an unjust government. The writings of the founders clearly say this. No, the Constitution was nowhere near perfect. But when weighing it against any other governmental document, the others fall short. I really have nothing more to say.. I apologize for the future that is to come under the way of thinking that Obama promotes.

I hadn't even got started on a debate yet. I was only stating my views. Oh well.

I disagree with you on almost everything you say. I just cannot see it that way, it is too negative and unmoving.
