I installed a trial version of Word Perfect and I want to delete it and
it will not let me. I go to my add/remove programs and click on remove and it just reinstalls it. How do I get rid of it? Is that normal? I have never come across that before. Never had a problem with deleting. Can anybody offer and type of help please? |

What if you use the software repair wizzard and go back to the time
before you installed it? |
|
|
|
is it a downloaded version?if so you MIGHT have a virus.

I do not know how to use the software wizard.
And Joe, I am virus free. It is a download version, but it came right from, Corel. And I am not about to shoot my computer! |

Email Corel support...they can help you with the problem.
Rather than shoot it just give it a good kicking |

Whisper,
Often the Add/Remove programs facility uses the same program to install as to remove, just with different options selected. Maybe you are telling it to remove, but that is not being selected properly - I would watch the process very carefully, and look for the chance to change options. Maybe there is a window with multiple tabs, so at first you don't see all the options unless you explore the tabs. Due to some small bug, you might have to tell it -twice- that you are trying to remove, not install. |

sounds like it is just fixing/repairing file from the add/remove
programs....try right clicking the icon used to start that program, then go to properties, then go to find target.you will now be in that programs main directory and the uninstaller should be in that folder.hope that works for ya |

I've ran into this problem many times in xp....i usualy just end up
removing it via regedit, but if you've never messed with the registry then i wouldn't suggest taking that route. |
|
|
|
I actually did mess with the registry. When I tried to crack it. I will
just leave it. I can still use it for some reason. So maybe the cracked really did work? |

If it is XP, then use the Restore command to restore your 'puter back to
a time before you installed WP. .. or reinstall it (thereby sorting the registry out) then when the computer is booting up, go in to safe mode (f8) and then use the add/remove programs option. The program will not have loaded by then, and it will be deleted. |
