Ode to 50...
************** I made it there, Without a single gray hair! Its not old, Lifes just begining to unfold. I can't believe I am this age, But yep- its written apon the page. To see it written in black and white, Does not cause a bit of fright. I sit and wonder where does time go, Scences of life displayed like a show. Time does seem to fly away, At some point we all wish to stay. In my mind I still feel thirty, Geesh... I even feel purty. Fourty came and went without alarm, Seems I've kept some of that charm. Teens and tweentys have long since gone, Each season of life brings a new dawn. Heres to fifty more I plea, As time and age flee before me. Party time I say with a gust, Join me- you must. Friends and Family gather round, Party without breaking the barrier sound. Go back in time with me. To the fifties hee hee. I'll keep allways within me, That inner child- you can see. Men slick that hair back, Roll in your shirt sleeve a cigerette pack. Gals dig out those beautiful saddle shoes, Wear those poodle skirts and act like a Muse. I'll dig out those oldie- but goodie songs, We'll all be dancin' before too long. Party as if its the last day of your life, Forget about yesterday, today, and tomarrows strifes. Ode to fifty- I do toast, I sure don't feel like it- I won't boast. What I've learned about life up to this day, Is live it the best you can- one day at a time is the way...
