I was talking to a guy on AIM for a while. After a couple of days we agreed to exchange numbers to text each other since he wasn't going to use AIM much anymore. Each reply from my texts came back within the same minute of me sending them. So, after a while, he asks a normal filler question comes along: What are you doing now?

Me? I'm pretty honest and told him exactly what I was doing: working on a music database. A week has passed now and I never got a reply from that text. Now, I wasn't going to go insane and send hateful texts, wasting my (unlimited haha) texts. The first thought that came to my mind was "Is it that bad I'm not some brain dead girl with no shred of intelligence in her?" Well, being rejected twice in the same month doesn't exactly help either. I was just really irritated by it.

As far as the database part goes, it's something I enjoy: Taking something I learned recently and utilizing it into my life. I'm actually quite proud of my work. ^^

My question: Why is it so wrong for me to be honest and show I'm intelligent without really trying?

I'm not sure it was about intelligence.. Probably more he was hoping you'd say "wearing nothing and touching myself while thinking of you"...

No, it was not wrong of you to pretend to be anything other than who, and what, you are.

Use those smarts of yours to pick a better caliber of guy next time and it will eventually pay off, girl!

For guys who tend not to see me past what I look like, I tend to avoid them as much as possible. I guess some just have to slip through the cracks. It's nearly impossible finding someone decent. Even in school. When your campus consists of 70% girls, it's a little tricky.



Since I'm studying computer information systems, I had to take a class required for all business majors...Well, it was the same name as my major, but it focused on database management in Access. I knew some Access material from high school, so I was pretty excited about it. Since it's the summer, and I'm not in a lovely desk chair on campus, I have to keep myself busy.

I have 50+ GB of music stored on my PC and had an old database for it, but wasn't really proud of it. I couldn't really "find" anything, so to speak. So, I figured I'd use my new-found knowledge and improve. I decided instead of keeping simple information of the songs I have, I wanted to see which full albums/single I had, which albums had missing tracks, how many tracks per album/single, what dates they were released, etc.



I listen to a lot of Asian music so I really have to know where to look for that kind of information. I'm up to the artists beginning with H now...after 2-3 weeks. It's a lot of work, but since I've had no luck finding a job, I'm glad I'm doing something I enjoy.

Honestly...he probably felt inferior because he didn't know what you were talking about, men, well, they are tricky like that...as much as we would like to know everything few of us have the balls to ask about it.

I was thinking something completly different when I heard music database (I don't do databases, I rearrange music) so I thought you were doing something more towards changing tempo's or beats...but then again, I have the balls to admit I was wrong.
