((((LIGHT))))) How in the world can they throw in that "doormat" monikor? Love in its many forms is not something that is walked on. Each person is only used as a "doormat" when they allow it. I guess some people are so bitter about what has occurred in their "love" whether in giving it or receiving it that they feel walked on. Do these people who express that saying admit that they are the one who allowed that to occur> I can admit that I was a doormat and yes I allowed it to happen.....but events in my life have changed that. That would't have happened if it were not for the power of love and the openess of strangers to give it I also was a doormat, because I was afraid to stand up for myself. I am a different person now than I was then. I just never compared being a doormat with love, and compassion. I just figured I was doing what I thought was right, but things do change. The first change came when I accepted me for myself, and began to love myself, that opened the door to allowing love from others in.  Light you are finding your inner peace, that is something that people crave and a good many never find. Your one of the lucky ones. |

True we each are responsible for our own actions, thoughts, expressions and so on. Sad to say there are a lot of people out there who will blame everyone and their dog for things that go wrong because of their actions. They are the ones who won't face the fact that they have to take responsiblity for some of the events that occur in their lives. I believe it is those people who have not found love from within themselves therefore can not take responcibility for their own actions. Agreed Patti, to love others unconditionally you first have to love yourself. |

Pam it was the exact same way for me....though it took a long hard look at myself to discover I really didn't like that person looking back at me at all. Light not only has inner peace and love but the ability to turn any stone hard cold heart into a light, breezy form a love and substain it with that same love and light |

Agreed Patti, to love others unconditionally you first have to love yourself. The only problem I see with that is that most people can not be truly honest with themselves. I went to a seminar once where they had you right down the things you liked about yourself and the things you disliked about yourself, then the same thing with the friend we brought with us. Let me tell you that was very enlightening to me. For the things that I disliked about myself were the things my friend thought were my strong points |

The truth is...what you say and feel about others..is really what you say and feel about yourself.You calling me creepy...dosen't make me creepy...that makes you a person who judges others!You have to see that right..if you say i am creepy....does that really make me creepy?I think not...that makes you somebody with a view about me. My final qiustion to you is this "What hurts you so bad that you have to hurt others to heal it?" I'll say it again...I got nothing but love for you! No, I am not threatened by love. No, I do notthink I'm creepy because I called you creepy. |

Okay... here is my two cents.... Saying 'I love you' to a stanger is CREEPY. Love is verb... an action and if the word is not back up with action it is unnatural. Love can be shown in other ways like was mentioned a smile, a kind word or gesture. But if you go walking around tell people you love them, you might be put in a rubber room. Secondly, when tell someone other than family and established friends the connotation will be the 'romantic' love. And that is just cruel to put that assumption upon someone. Well said, Tanya. While I never thought he meant anything romantically, I just thought he was going overboard. Forcing your feelings on others, especially after they've stated they don't agree is too much. However, he's just trying to get reactions. |
