So, I'm sitting in my living room with my mom, watching her re-runs of Dallas on tv and just had this conversation:
Mom - That dishwasher is noisy...I should turn it off until Dallas is over. Me - Yea, you might miss JR being a jerk whenever his mouth opens. Mom - You know, I've been married to your father for 37 years and I've only had a dishwasher for 6 months. Me - ...yea that's a big time difference. Mom - I'm thinking I would like him a lot more if he would have bought me one years ago. Me - Really? Mom - That's the key to a happy marriage. Me - That would have made you and dad happier? Mom - Yep, a dishwasher. And I just take this as either moms losing it a little, or they were just so happy that having to hand wash dishes for a family of 9 was the only thing she could gripe over. |

Dishwashers arent that great. Everyone fights over how to put the dishes in "correctly" and who loads it and unloads it. I would be much happier with paper plates!!

I don't have one in my house, either.....thankfully he didn't like doing dishes by hand and was too cheap to go buy one...so out he went!!

Laaaaaaaawd knows you put the dishes in "incorrectly" at my dad's house!!! I gave up long ago........
HEY YOU!!! DO IT YA SELF??? |

Hmmmmmmmmmmm my mom's thoughts on marriage. If I remember correctly she told me that my azzzzzzzzhole bf at the time was no good. She was right but I of course had to prove her wrong..........
BUT I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE HIM!!!! gaaaaaaaaaaaaawd I was a stupid woman!! |

When we were kids we would ask our Dad to buy Mom a dishwasher,
he always said 'What for? I already got 4 of them' |
I have one and never used it
Thinking of taking it out for more cabinet space My mom always told me plain and simple; DON'T !!!! |
I wash my own dishes.

I grew up in a family of 6 kids, without a dishwasher. Never, and I do mean never, again will I live without a dishwasher. I will run that sucker 4 times a night if I have to but I won't wash dishes by hand

Damn, There's no way I can respond to this without getting in deep doo-doo.
Don't Panic! |

It just goes to show you that your mom does not have anything to complain about the way your dad was all those years. See that is true love in it's finest!!!! PRICELESS...........

Doing the dishes with your love can be fun entertaining educational and a good stress reliever, just have to use your imagination a little and soap bubbles hot water and dirty dishes can be heaven.

I thought it was sweet but odd. Just like the whole family. Mom says she's loved dad since she met him in a dirt village in Mexico when they were 11. And at 19 Dad realized he had to save Mom from her crazy mother so they got married when they got to Canada and had a whole mess of kids. How do you top that? |
