but Lincoln and Kennedy were both sitting down when they were shot not walking (so much for those footsteps)

and Garfield was shot while waiting for a train (waiting tends to be a stationary act) so much for those footsteps

as for McKinley:
On his right stood John C. Milburn of Buffalo, president of the Pan-American Exposition, chatting with the President

so he was not walking either hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm

but they did all walk the halls of the white house and congress

and obviously other places as well

so..while everyone talks about whether Obama is good or bad, the topic was about an ad in a newspaper which might could be a threat or a seriously sick joke.

My question is, who wrote it, why and how did it get past the screening to become an ad.

Doesn't matter if it was a joke. It's against the law to threaten the president.

it's against the law to make threats period. I wondered earlier in the thread why the paper didn't catch the ad

Is that a threat?

maybe they just thought Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy, were great presidents

and is hoping that obama will be a great president as well

some do say lincoln was the best prez ever andhey there are those tha really liked kenedy as well

and garfield and mckinley had to have done something good at sometime don't ya think

smokin smokin smokin smokin

maybe it is the paper's editor's own mind set that is creating the thought process behind the hope for the unthinkable

just a thought

The ad read: "May Obama follow in the footsteps of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy," Elchert said.

Not to stir up controversy - but his quote actually never threatened anyone.

While the message is clear to me, no where on his ad does he explicitly say he wants anything to happen to Obama?

Why Rose? Never is the President threatened, it is just assumed he is.

No one knows the true motive of another.
