LexFonteyne said being a "good communicator" among other things that women desparately seek for in a man. But what is weird is that what if the woman find a man who is a better communicator; and then later find out that isn't what she wanted solely for the reason because it is entirely something she never come to understand in the first place? That is: being a better communicator.

What is the main thing women are attracted to in a man,I know every woman is different but there has to be a common factor that women look for

Someone I can communicate with. To me, that is most important.

I am very attracted to goofy-romantic type guys that can make you laugh but don't cross the line and become lewd or disrespectful. I also love it when a guy has a good honest smile.

Well, what I've found, in most cases, is that the "good communicator" preference is another PC smokescreen which people use because, at least on the surface, everyone can sort of identify with it.

"Oh, sure, communication is important!" they say, simultaneously putting on their track shoes so they can run like hell if/when the allegedly-desired "good communicator" happens to show up.

I can speculate that in some cases, it is usually from a person who hold a managerial position in whatever profession, and confuses it with both dating someone and working with others. Trust me - I dated managers before.

Yeah, I've run into that a few times, too -- it's interesting to watch someone who can't separate the ideas of business-communication and relationship-communication. There is a sort of inherent inflexibility in many cases; the person tends to want to "manage" a relationship as if it were some sort of company-wide project which will be evaluated by the higher-ups and may, with time and enough effort, result in a promotion and a raise.

As for the people who claim to want a "good communicator" in their profiles, I think it's more a case of boilerplate laziness than it is an actual desire on their part. It's like the phrase "laid back and easy going" -- since everyone else in the world uses that in THEIR profiles, it must be OK.

Never mind that it's cliched beyond being of any conceivable use -- the IMPORTANT thing is to avoid rocking the proverbial boat at all costs. Don't ever include anything interesting, thought-provoking, or in any way original in a profile -- the world might blow up or something.

And I want to add, being able to look me in the eyes while chatting. That says a lot about a person.

You might be right. I say I want someone that can communicate, but I don't like someone to rehash or analyze everything. I've know men that communicate too much for my liking. Talking everything over again and again loses the excitement of the relationship for me. Sometimes silence is golden. Maybe we only think we know what we want.

Your question is a little too broad, you really need to narrow it down to an age bracket as what they want changes with time.

i.e. 20's / 30's / 40's
