I'm trying to do some research on buying a home... I know a lot about the process because of work, but I'm learning that I'm clueless about the details.

{{{{{Pat}}}}}.....yes, they are more like stilts than shoes but because they have a heel instead of just a pole, I call them shoes.

The one I really really wanted went into sale pending within the 24 hours I made an appointment to see it and my appointment time came, I was super bummed about it. I'm on to house #2 now, but it's septic and well, and I know nothing about maintaining either. It also costs twice as much as the last one, but it's also bigger, has a 2 car garage, the other had no garage, and this one has a nice screened in porch, and a basement that the other didnt have. I want to go see the inside of it, but I'm not sure I like the town it's in. I call it Funkytown because it's along a river and has a lot of swamp lands surrounding it, and sometimes the whole town has a funky smell. LOL it's only when flooding is going down, and everything smells like rotting fish! hehe! Otherwise it's a nice little town.

Thats why my dad is going with me to view the houses, he knows more of what to look for then I do. Since I'm looking at forclosures, I have to be extra careful cause they houses have been vacant for so long.

When we were looking for a house my ex wanted to sign a contract right away on this tiny garage they were trying to pass off as a house. He and the Realtor got mad at me when I said "no way!! I needed my dad to check it out"

But since it was my money buying the house, they were out of luck.

I totally get that Eileena, my exhusband and I did the house hunting thing. I'm so glad I decided not to go for anything, within a year we were in court finalizing our divorce LOL.

I'm super excited about buying and super scared at the same time. This is a huge commitment!
