I dont even know what a cheese steak is..... It's basically a grilled steak sandwich, really thinly sliced steak, mushrooms, onions, peppers and cheese (or any combination of the above) |

Saute some onions, mushrooms and peppers in a pan. You need very thinly sliced steak (I get mine at the asian market by my house, it's already really thin). Chop the slices into bite sized pieces (they should be fairly small). In a second pan, heat a tablespoon or so of olive oil on high heat, add the meat along with salt, pepper, worstershire sauce to taste, heat very quickly to desired doneness (med should take no more than 5 minutes or so).
Take a submarine/hoagie roll, pile in the meat, cheese of your choice and sauteed veggies, enjoy. Start to finish, it takes about 1/2 hour to make this. Kids love it, if you get a lean cut of meat and a reduced fat cheese, they're not so bad for you either. I forgot, lots of people add mayo, mustard or ketchup. Whatever floats your boat on that one, I usually eat them without. |
