I had read recently that Iran had tested rockets that they say could reach the US.

..And how many US rockets can reach any country around the globe?

Iran also has the support of a Russia that is backsliding into communism and an already communist China.

Wrong. Russia is anything today but communist. They even removed the red stars from the uniforms. China is much can be called a communist, as USA a socialist. There is no real communism on this world, there are dictatorships (North Korea) of various kinds. China would be classified as a 'radical-capitalist'.

Iran is a situation that needs to be closely monitored, but a stupid knee jerk reaction of preemptive attacks would be a bad move at this time. The possibility of a nuclear threat from AL Qaeda in Pakistan is more troublesome.

Iran hasn't attacked anyone or went out to conquest for the past 400 years. Iraq/Iran war was an Iraqi aggression, with US and Israel backing Iran. That's why Iran has F14 Tomcats and American armor mixed with Russian weapons and armor + Iranian improvement and tech, for the now obsolete NATO and Russian weaponry by their own.

Have you not been following the current events in Russia? Maybe you have heard of Putin, do some research into how he has been running Russia. China is a communist nation, certain freedoms have been given to some in a very restricted manner, their is no freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of religion, or freedom of assembly, is that not communism? And as for the US we have never been closer to becoming a socialist nation that we are under obamanation.

Have you ever read what communism is? Have you ever lived in one that claimed to be?

I have done both. 16yrs in communism. waving

China is a radical capitalist state, with fierce restrictment of freedom and Russia is hardly communist.

What you have seen so far in the past has nothing to do with communism, but points out the problem how and why you can't have communism, because it turns into a dictatorship, or to better describe it, into an oligarchy.

United States of America is , - despite what you believe is - a mild oligarchy, ruled by the top 5% richest. The best indication was how Bush couldn't had been impeached, even though he would deserve it, or how Obama gave bailouts to the bank, despite 90% of the people opposed it. waving
Bush has broken the Constitution numerous times, and Obama not seem to have any respect for it, with his latest "indefinite detention" ideas, tells you the whole story how they couldn't care less what you gotta say and how "We the People" is nothing but slogan.

It's the same reason why you could oppose the war (most people do) and yet USA is in a war and will stay in Iraq and Afghanistan indefinitely.

Do you still believe Obama is gonna bring back the troops? That was just rhetoric to elect him.

US troops could stay in Iraq for a decade

I think they don't so much want or need nuclear weapons as resent being told they can't have any. That kind of explicit discrimination ought to rankle anyone.

True, I know it would me mad in a second.

Thomas,

Take a look at this: "Report ranks U.S. number 6 among police-state spying on its citizens. Only Russia, China, North Korea, Belarus, and the UK are worse."

I see your point, but it seems to me true communism is only an intellectual Utopian ideal that in real life always plays like all the examples of attempted communism we have seen. In the real world communism is China, Russia, North Korea, etc.
