I had read recently that Iran had tested rockets that they say could reach the US. ..And how many US rockets can reach any country around the globe? Iran also has the support of a Russia that is backsliding into communism and an already communist China.
Wrong. Russia is anything today but communist. They even removed the red stars from the uniforms. China is much can be called a communist, as USA a socialist. There is no real communism on this world, there are dictatorships (North Korea) of various kinds. China would be classified as a 'radical-capitalist'. Iran is a situation that needs to be closely monitored, but a stupid knee jerk reaction of preemptive attacks would be a bad move at this time. The possibility of a nuclear threat from AL Qaeda in Pakistan is more troublesome. Iran hasn't attacked anyone or went out to conquest for the past 400 years. Iraq/Iran war was an Iraqi aggression, with US and Israel backing Iran. That's why Iran has F14 Tomcats and American armor mixed with Russian weapons and armor + Iranian improvement and tech, for the now obsolete NATO and Russian weaponry by their own. |

Hamas (حماس Ḥamās, an acronym of حركة المقاومة الاسلامية Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamat al-Islāmiyyah, meaning "Islamic Resistance Movement") is a Palestinian Islamic socio-political organization which includes a paramilitary force, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.[2][3] Hamas is considered wholly, or in part, a terrorist organization by certain countries and supranational organizations. Since June 2007, Hamas has governed the Gaza portion of the Palestinian Territories. Hamas was created in 1987 by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi and Mohammad Taha of the Palestinian wing of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood at the beginning of the First Intifada, an uprising against Israeli rule in the Palestinian Territories. Hamas launched numerous suicide bombings against Israel,[5] the first of them in April, 1993.[6] |

But then, I recognized Wikipedia. If wikipedia says so, it must be, right? |

I think they don't so much want or need nuclear weapons as resent being told they can't have any. That kind of explicit discrimination ought to rankle anyone.

The US didn't need the nukes to win WWII, we had already won by the time we dropped them. Japan hadn't surrendered yet, but they were down to their last leg, last eye and last arm and could not have continued much longer. We dropped the bombs to establish US superiority in world. I had read recently that Iran had tested rockets that they say could reach the US. Iran also has the support of a Russia that is backsliding into communism and an already communist China. Iran is a situation that needs to be closely monitored, but a stupid knee jerk reaction of preemptive attacks would be a bad move at this time. The possibility of a nuclear threat from AL Qaeda in Pakistan is more troublesome. The prediction was over 1 million casualties if the US would have invaded Japan. It boggles the mind to think that your grandfather would have been one of those to die attempting that, pretty much whiping out your existance. Wouldn't have much to say then would ya! Who came up with that number? It was the people who wanted a reason to drop the nukes. It was a conveniently contrived number. |
