In a suprise move President Barack Obama pardons former Illinois governor Milorad "Rod" R. Blagojevich of all crimes and misemeanors and then nominated him to the soon to be vacant associate jjustice seat held by David Souter. Details and film at Eleven.

Blagojevich was arrested on federal corruption charges December 9, 2008. The charges involved conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery.[3][4] The Justice Department complaint alleges that the governor conspired to commit several "pay-to-play" schemes, including attempting to sell Barack Obama's vacated United States Senate seat to the highest bidder. Ultimately, he appointed fellow Democrat and former state attorney general Roland Burris on New Year's Eve 2008.

Burris was seated after some initial opposition in mid-January 2009.[5] On January 8, 2009, the Illinois House of Representatives voted to impeach Blagojevich by a 114–1 vote for corruption and misconduct in office,[6][7] the first time such an action has been taken against a governor of Illinois,[8] making him the second state official in Illinois history to be impeached. He was subsequently convicted and removed from office on January 29, 2009 by a unanimous 59–0 vote in the Illinois State Senate.

In a separate vote, the Senate voted unanimously to permanently bar Blagojevich from holding public office again in the state of Illinois. Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn was subsequently sworn in as new governor.

I love Obama but he is still the president of the united snakes of america. He is much better then McCain, but if he tries to turn this ship around too quickly or too severely he will end up like Kennedy; dead on arrival. How can anyone be brought to justice before the torturers of the last administration; in other words, if Bush and Cheney do not have to face justice for their crimes against humanity, then there is no justice here to be found. Justice is for the next world, where no one gets away, not even Bush and Cheney.

so you defend him by pointing out past administration? the 2 are separate. the past admisitration and all of those involved should be brought to trial. but how oes that excuse BHO pardoning someone who wasn't supposed to ever hold office again...and bringing him into his administration
