Didn't all church people stem from the catholic religion or the church in Rome? If that is the case why do other church people always talk about the sexual stuff going on in the catholic church when it goes on in all churches. The catholics just got caught faster?

I never knew until I came to Mingle that the catholic church is so looked down upon by other churches.. Why is that? Do they use the catholic church as a tool to make their churches look more godly or what? I probably didn't say this right but oh well.

All goes back to Martin Luther when he posted his new thesis's on the Wittenberg Castle.

From there many difference of opinions continued to evolve that still hasn't stopped today.

What about the Jews?

I was talking in terms of Christianity for the poster mentioned Catholicsm.

The Jews existed before Christianity of course.

Catholicism and the Roman Catholic church is considered the "least removed" from paganism according to the beliefs of many evangelicals and protestants. Historically, this is quite accurate. The catholic church attempted to bridge that gap. Thats one part of it anyway and also what smiless was discussing. So there is quite a few reasons.

i am not aware this is going on.the catholic church has alot of following.i think they went out of there way to cover up the child molestation scandal.that is as much the root of the problem as the actual act.it is true that there is coruption in other denominations.any coruption in the churches hurts the body of christ catholic or protestant.paul in the bible.said we were all immorale.it is only because of christ and his sacrafice that we are saved.so how can we bost or bragg or look down on others.as christ is the only one without bleamash.but. the bible does say we should separate ourselves from those who knowingly and intentionally do harm to the church.just because christ is the only judge.it doesnt say we should condone sin.there will be catholics in heaven along with protestant.my church had a close call with this subject.the one who was molesting was taken to the police station by the pastor.he now awaits trial.this was done the very minute the crime was known.if the catholic church had handled there situation in this way in a timely manner they would not have had the fallout.when any christian sins it hurts the body of christ.when it is covered up and there is no accountability it creates a bad situation for everyone most of all the children who are scared for life

Absolutely. Protestantism is the epitome of arrogance.

First they denounce the Catholic Church saying that no moral man speaks for God!

Then they turn around and proselytize and evangelize Protestantism demanding their their intereprestions of the Bible represents "God's Word".

The very nature of all these religions that claim to speak for God have their foundations in arrogance.

They think their interpretations smell better than other people's.

Any religions that go around denoucing people in the name of God simply because they refuse to agree with any particular sect or demonination's interpretation of an ancient inconsistent, contradictive, and proven false dotrine, is nothing short of insanity, IMHO.

Jesus would roll over in his grave if he had a clue what goes on in his name.

The catholic church is looked down upon because they violate The Most High's Ten Commandments. The Church is rebellious .

Let He that is without sin cast the first stone.
