I would like to be a part of that service. :) That's a very cool goal to have.  I can understand the need for using alternative energy sources. The problem is that I don't make a whole lot of money, and the vast majority of the new ways of getting electricity are pretty expensive. That, added to the fact that solar doesn't work particularly well where I live, especially in November when it's cloudy for around 28 of the 30 days, doesn't make using solar cost effective at this point. |

The problem for me is that for most of the systems that would remove me from the grid, the startup costs alone would equal about 1/2 of my yearly pay. I simply cannot afford it. I would LOVE to be able to get the place I am moving to set up to be more energy independent, but the cost of doing so is beyond my means at this point. |

I couldn't convert my existing place either...starting from scratch is more do-able. HOWEVER, you can work on item by item things...hot water, windows, etc as time/money allow and that will help, right? Just another reason to look for alien life forms in Roswell :) |
