this Q is for the older people just being that they have seen alot more then most of us.

im going to be having a child with my girlfriend karen. for the past year she has treated me pretty bad. the one thing that keeps me with her is the fact we are going to be parents. i know i should not stay with someone because of a child but she tells me if i dont stay with her she will leave and not tell me were she goes. so can she do this to me(law)??? and is being with her even though im treated very bad the right thing to do for this kid???

As far as I know you have every right to see your kid just as long as your being a good parent as well as father and helping pay your half etc.

I guess your best bet is you could always go to some type of legal services that could better help you out on this that is if you would rather not be with your current girlfriend etc.

It's never a good reason to stay with anyone that threatens you.. You can get a court order to have visitation rights and she will not be allowed to leave the state... You have to do something though, just waiting is going to make the chances bigger that she'll get to do what she wants before you can stop her..

different states are different but I would say yes.. I'm not sure if a state aide attorney would do that but a private attorney should if your state allows it. Father's have a lot more right these days... It's great to see father's be there for their kids.. I see more and more all the time, especially on here...
